2013 SRT Viper GTS-RThe Chrysler Group's Street and Racing Technology (SRT) will debut the 2013 SRT Viper GTS-R at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course on August 4.
Racing is considered an extra-curricular activity for mainstream car companies.
While not a requirement, racing could add tremendous value to a car company's R&D and marketing.
Racing is, however, a luxury in that only the financially abundant car companies can partake.
Lexington, Ohio will be the returning ground for Chrysler's racing program.
"The new SRT Viper GTS-R represents a rebirth for us on the race track," said Ralph Gilles, President and CEO – SRT Brand and Motorsports, Chrysler Group LLC.
