2010 Toyota Matrix Review:
Visibility is really bad. Every time you reverse, you take your life, and the one of vehicle-pedestrians not in your VERY limited field of view, in your hands!

There are a good 4 bad blind spots, the worse being the ridiculously small rear windshield, but also I note the position of the driver's side mirror, smack in your field of view when you turn left, is terrible.

As for fuel consumption, I have driven trucks with better gas mileage as well as 6 cylinder, much higher performance 4 wheel drive vehicles. All winter, the best I was achieving was between 13 to 14L/100km, or 21 to 24 mi/gal, which, for a small 4 cylinder, front wheel drive vehicle is rather poor. For the price it is an acceptable car.

I like the AWD and I don't have any complaints about the 2.4L 158 HP engine.

The MPG isn't amazing as a result but still within the realm of acceptable, I'm getting about 27.

I find the seats comfortable and the Sports suspension really helps the car handle well.

Easiest car to park I've ever driven.

The interior is a little plastic-y feeling but all in all no better or worse for a car in the price range.

The Blind spots are probably some of the worse I've seen, there is a nasty blind spot in pretty much ever direction in some way or another. However, it's almost like they cancel each other out since you just always have to be careful, careful when your making a left hand turn, careful when your changing lanes, careful when you merge etc....

Interior is cheap looking.
Noisy at higher speeds.
It needs more get up.
It has large blind spots in the back.
Also wish the luggage rack came standard like its older sibling car Pontiac Vibe.

I never owned a car that was so uncomfortable on a long drive. Seats in the front are very uncomfortable. Felt every bump in the road.
Gas mileage not that great.
Looking for another new car.
