Pros: What do you like about 2008 Hyundai Accent?
The car is affordable, looks ok, and has adequate power to move it around the city.

Cons: How would you improve 2008 Hyundai Accent?
The quality of the paint on the doors is very low. I've found that in a short period of time the doors have started to look scratched and covered in dings from other cars.

The power output of this car is good, but the 5th gear is far too short. I realize that the car is designed with a younger crowd in mind who may not be competent to downshift before passing on the highway. I feel that producing a car with a very short 5th gear is not the answer. This car could get far better mileage with a gear that was 20% bigger.

Design, design, design.
Hatchback has huge trunk room.

Surprisingly sturdy feel for a $16k car.

My Accent definitely does not drive like a sports car. But then, I didn't buy a sports car. In an ideal world, my Accent would accelerate like a sports car.

2012 Hyundai Accent Review:
Accent or Fit? I chose Accent! Why? Design, of course. My Accent is SO cute!

I have the hatchback, and I can fit in my whole bike in there. The interior room is huge.

There is nothing fancy inside the car, but it has everything I need, like a sturdy cup holder, basic stereo, heat and air, comfortable seats, etc.

And 40MPG is great. I am happy with mine!

Pros: What do you like about 2007 Hyundai Accent?
Good gas mileage.
Cargo space holds lots of stuff.
Easy to park.

Cons: How would you improve 2007 Hyundai Accent?
Interior fabric attracts dirt, hair, pet dander and is hard to vacuum off.
Seatbelt is really hard to reach behind and grab (in front seats).
Armrest mechanism broke on drivers right side.
Seats are uncomfortable.
Headrest rests right on my head instead of behind it. My hair sticks to it.

2007 Hyundai Accent Review:
Great car for the price, but not good for longer trips. After an hour, feels like you're sitting on hard surface.

Holds plenty of cargo for a compact car (I have the hatchback version). I put a hitch on it to carry a bike rack, which you cannot do on the Honda Fit.

Paint job is still good after 4 years.

Pros: What do you like about 2009 Hyundai Accent?
The price.
Color (I have ice blue color).
The gas mileage.
Large trunk.
Style inside and out.

Electric windows.
Better brakes.
More powerful engine.

The pep, corners well, easy to park, little car but roomy, and with standard maintenance, very reliable!!

My old 96 accent had 135,000 and was still going when I traded it in. Drove across country twice and was never gentle with it. It took a beating!

Cons: How would you improve 2007 Hyundai Accent?
Find a way to add a 6th gear or O/D with reducing torque! Love the pep but over 70 mph, the rpm is over 4000 making the engine noise almost unbearable! My 96 accent/ auto. never made that much noise at highway speeds!

Door panels and dash scratch easily and seatbelts too far back. Love the tilt in steering wheel but if you're short, and have to be close to reach the clutch, your knees touch the column.

I still love my little zippy car, just wish it wasn't sooo loud after 70mph!

Looks good on the outside.
Interior is o.k.

I have had my car in the shop 3 or 4 times for the same thing. It is stalling or hesitating when I go to put the car in gear to go forward and reverse. The dealership says that there is nothing wrong with it.

Also, the alarm goes off a lot for no reason. This car is still under warranty.

I would not buy another one. I went on line and others seem to be having the same problems that I am having.

Fix steering wheel noise. They put a new clock pin in but it is just as loud afterwards. If this is something that happens with most of these cars, I think buyers should be aware of this.

Hyundai Accent is probably the best "value" holder for a sub compact.

Need better tires.
