| Pros: What do you like about 2010 GMC Terrain?
Don't own a Terrain at this time, but drive a friend's.
I've been looking seriously at cars to replace my '99 GMC Jimmy and like the Terrain better than anything else I've seen or driven.
It's the right size vehicle for me and the mileage isn't bad, either. Love the rear vision camera and the feel of the car on the road. Pretty quiet, too.
What's stopping me from buying the Terrain TODAY is the absence of HomeLink, which I had on my Jimmy. Interestingly, the Acadia has Universal Home Remote, so I wonder why GMC wouldn't include it on their Terrain. I thought it may have been an optional feature that my friend didn't select for her car, but no, it's not offered at all on the Terrain. Too bad. I'll wait to see if GMC smartens up and includes Universal Home Remote later this year. It may seem like such a small thing, but not being able to program my door opener (and indoor lights) as I can now, makes it a deal breaker for me. Though I'd love to purchase the Terrain soon, I'll hold off, hoping that GMC smartens up.
But if others don't care about programming their garage door opener and indoor lights to come on with a touch of a button from the car, my advice is to by all means test drive the Terrain. I'm sure you'll be in for a very pleasant surprise! It's too sweet a vehicle to ignore. Cons: How would you improve 2010 GMC Terrain?

Purchased the SLE-2 last week. Love the bold styling of the exterior makes it looks much more masculine than it's Equinox counterpart.
Interior design is fantastic. 8 speaker premium sound is well done, along with the other gadgets and gizmos.
Comfortable seating with adjustable power (and heated) cloth interior. (Prefer this over the leather. Live in a cold Canadian climate so although heating leather is nice, I find my body warms the leather before the heater.)
3/60,000km full warranty, 5//160,000km powertrain warranty and 5 year Roadside Assistance offers a nice piece of mind in purchasing a new model vehicle.
3.0L 6 cylinder at 264HP has plenty of pick up and go although I test drove the 2.4L 4 cyl, and it was more than adequate for performance.
3.0L provides comparable gas mileage to my 3.4L Pontiac Montana minivan in town and chose this engine because I needed the extra towing capacity for my boat. Cons: How would you improve 2010 GMC Terrain?
Not really a con, but being a new vehicle, hard to find generic steel rims for this vehicle to add winter tires although the steel rims used on the Buick sedans will fit.
Remote car starter requires you lock the doors once, prior to engaging the starter. (If this is a requirement that the doors be locked, have the starter button lock the vehicle and then engage the remote start.) 2010 GMC Terrain Review:
Overall, I've had this vehicle approx 1 week and it hasn't disappointed me. Handles great for a crossover with a comfortable yet firm ride. I think GM definitely got the interior right with this vehicle and the bold exterior has had several people turn heads.
Look forward to driving it for many more years to come. |

I like the interior design. It has a modern feel to it.
The standard back-up camera is great.

The chrome latch on the dash compartment reflects the sun.
I wish it had dual zone air.

I have ordered the SLT-1 Terrain. It has been over a month and they just started to build it this week. I am very excited to get it. (hopefully only a couple more weeks) I ordered the brownstone interior sight unseen and have now seen pictures of it finally. I think I made a mistake there.
I debated between the Terrain and the Equinox, but let my husband decide which he liked better. I was happy to get the extras that the Terrain offers standard over the Equinox.
After driving a Tahoe for the last 8 years, I look forward to getting descent gas mileage on my 80 mile roundtrip drive to work.
We added the DVD entertainment system for my "special needs" son even though no one could tell us anything about it. That is one drawback about ordering a vehicle when it FIRST comes out! (along with picking an interior color you regret)
We looked at all the comparable SUVs and I am expecting to be thrilled with my choice. |

V-6 is quiet.
Roomy back seat.
Storage.

Change the red lighting, you cant tell if somethings wrong or not.
Cover the second row seat rails. They protrude when you push the seats back. Recess them in the floor.
Power passenger seat. Just like driver.
Gas fill on drivers side.
GM get the bugs out for 2011 and i'll buy one!!!!
Add a mini Denali grill!!

Gas mileage. Have 900 miles on my vehicle and only getting 15 mpg around town ( with an average speed of 38MPH!!!) Have not had on the road yet. Dealer says gas mileage not a problem. I'd rather have my 2000 Yukon back with 10mpg and a FULL front bench seat as opposed to the cramped buckets with console of the Terrain. BIG MISTAKE!!! could have bought a lot of gas for $25,000.00. Really is a GovernmentMessCompany joke, a real insult to the GM community. Been driving GM ONLY since 1954. |

I have a brand new 2010 terrain which has been at the dealership for a month. Fuel injector problems, they are saying that it is the fuel line contamination which others do not believe that as the stability track light came on. The only code that came up was PO - 300. The dealership can't get the parts for another two weeks. So I have been without a vehicle for a month and be the time it is all over with 6- 8 weeks. The dealership did some diagnostics that should not have been done on the vehicle. I have called the dealership (owner) emailed GM and called GM. Nothing has been done at this point. I think if you are going to purchase a vehicle....wait until the bugs are out of their system. |

The gas mileage has not got up yet but still new.

Power seat on the passenger side, the best mpg I have received is 25 highway and 21 city, but I only have 900 miles on the car maybe it will do better after it gets broke in.
It is a 4 cyl and it does struggle going up steep hills on the interstate. 2010 GMC Terrain Review:

A POWER PASSENGER SEAT! My husband has two artificial hips and a knee and loves the leg room and POWER seat on the DRIVERS side but he feels cramped on the passenger side. The power seat allows him to adjust the seat in a couple of different ways to take pressure of from his back and legs when riding with me. We'll purchase a Terrain when GM decides to offer the passenger power seat as an option. Please GM, make it soon!!! I love the Terrain! 2010 GMC Terrain Review:

I test drove several other vehicles including a 2010 Toyota Highlander Limited. I bought the Terrain.
Comfortable ride. Stereo is excellent.

I have had my terrain 2 weeks now, and I love it. I have not found anything I do not like about it so far. I like being able to crank it up from inside on a cold frosty morning. I like the sound system and the back up camera. Cons: How would you improve 2010 GMC Terrain?

I really like how quiet the ride is. I read about the noise cancellation device that GMC put into the Terrain, and it really works. It is almost similar to my Bose noise cancellation headphone set. Cons: How would you improve 2010 GMC Terrain?

It looks great. I disagree with the folks who think that the back looks like a minivan. If you see it in motion, you will agree that it gives a nice GMC character.
Interior is well designed. It is utilitarian, and not much space is wasted, like the GMCs from the past.
The programmable liftgate is awesome. No one needs the liftgates to open all the way up, unless you are a moving company. Or if you buy a really bulky stuff, maybe once or twice a year. Cons: How would you improve 2010 GMC Terrain?
Engine could be more powerful, but then again I am thankful for the fuel economy. 2010 GMC Terrain Review:

Really like the smaller size of the vehicle vs. the current GMCV Envoy. Cons: How would you improve 2010 GMC Terrain?
Make basic equipment available, either standard or as an option: universal home remote (come on, GM, what's wrong with you guys!?); power passenger seat; dual-zone A/C.
Also, please change shift points on transmissions for both engines..now geared for maximum gas mileage...but results in poor performance. The six is worse than the 4!
Most important, redesign this vehicle...it is incredibly ugly...looks like a brick on wheels. 2010 GMC Terrain Review:
Was surprised by test drives of this vehicle. Getting past the ugly exterior was bad enough, but found both engines to be a lot less gutsy than other reviews had indicated. The 6 especially was disappointing...really slow in passing. Some of the interior plastics are hard and cheap looking, and reaching the nav screen from the driver's seat is a stretch you shouldn't have to do when driving. |
