2010 Ford Ranger

Pros: What do you like about 2010 Ford Ranger?
This is my 3rd Ranger.
I drove a 3.0 V6 and worked it hard ont the job for 150+K miles.
Had to change spark plug wires once. Otherwise just oil change, tires, brakes.
I now have a 2010 short bed regular cab. It is just my go anywhere I want small truck. It will be sad to see the last small truck go especially now that it has 4 wheel disk, anti lock, traction control, and side air bags.
Don't knock the little 2.3 Mazda/Duratec dohc 4 valve engine. If you have to go just hold it to the floor and it will go to 6 grand 5 times and be moving.
Otherwise it is docile and gets 22+mpg on a regular basis.
My short bed with the light weight engine steers like a dream.

Cons: How would you improve 2010 Ford Ranger?
Not much because I want a small truck.
The new direct injected I-4 with lots more power would make this little truck fast and easy on gas, (best of both worlds), but that is not going to happen.

2010 Ford Ranger Review:
Last chance to buy a small basic dependable everyday fun to drive truck.
The Nissans and Toyotas are good trucks but have grown in size over the years and are no longer compact in size, (see the specs).

Pros: What do you like about 2010 Ford Ranger?
I like the exterior styling is pleasing to the eye and the layout of the interior makes sense.
The 4.0L engine is responsive.
The XM satellite radio is awesome.
I like that the Ranger has stuck with the steering column shifter vice the floor mounted shifters in many trucks nowadays.
The four doors is a nice touch and makes access to the back of the cab a lot easier, although I wouldn't recommend the rear of the truck for carrying passengers.

Cons: How would you improve 2010 Ford Ranger?
Fuel economy is not that good for a compact truck, but it's a proven platform, so take the good with the bad.
I would like steering wheel mounted stereo controls, a standard sprayed on bedliner, or plastic bed.
An integrated GPS option would be nice as well.

2010 Ford Ranger Review:
This is my third for Ranger, I had a 1990, bare bones model, not even power steering, a 98 XLT 2.3, (FYI a 2.3 Ranger has absolutly no power and I would not recommend it unless you like loosing speed up even moderate hills) and now I have a 2010 XLT 4x4 extended cab.

I like the fact Ford has stayed true to what a compact pickup is. The exterior styling and interior styling are great. Although there could be some better finishing on some parts. The rear of my bumper is not even on both sides between the body, just like my 98, and some of the interior plastic has rough edges in obvious spots such as the doors.

Overall I think the Ranger is a great little truck for the $ on a proven platform.

I like that the 4x4 sport looks like a cool truck. I like that the cab "only" has jump seats so as to not take away the bed length like the "roomier" cabs of Toyota and Nissan do. You can't carry anything in those trucks.

I like that ranger is American made. When you buy a truck, it should be American made. We stand for trucks. I like that the Ranger has been around for 28 years, they've pretty much worked out all the kinks. People degrade the Ranger because the styling hasn't been updated recently. I say if it ain't broken, don't fix it.

A little better gas mileage would be nice but hey, it's a truck.

My 4th ranger. This is my first 4x4 with 4.0 V6. Love it, I rushed out and bought it when I heard Ford was killing the Ranger after 2011.

Like the looks, power, and all the extras my 2004 didn't have. 4 wheel disc brakes, side air bags, xm radio, traction control, and aux jack for my android phones music.

Needs to sit up higher. I have 4x4 but, worry about ground clearance.

Junk audio system in a 28,000 dollar truck and no option to upgrade. Why not include the audiophile stereo?

Not much because I already like the way it looks as well as its performance. The only thing I changed in my Ford Ranger is its wheels and rims. I got a new ford ranger rims and looks great now!

This truck is perfect for towing and hauling.

Pros: What do you like about 2010 Ford Ranger?
I like the way the truck looks....especially the front end. It is the only true compact truck on the market. I get 22-23 mpg overall with my 2.3/auto Supercab which is more than all the other "midsize" trucks.

Handling is great and the ABS is excellent. I like the old school interior and dashboard.....a bunch better than the others.

The price with all the typical rebates/incentives make this truck a few thousand $$$ cheaper than the imports.

Seats are way too firm! The OEM Continental Conitracs are noisey....real noisey. Ford should include a full size spare instead of the standard donut space saving donut.

Ford should dump the 4.0 and use the Ecoboost 3.7!

Hard on gas.
Drives like a tank.
Smaller tires - they can get away with a 15" on that truck.
Make the super cab super, like two full size cabs like a lot of the other trucks are using, like the Tacoma, cause the access cab is kinda a waste of space. Nobody can sit in them. I may remove the seats as they are no good for nothing.
Add the flex fuel system to the engine.

2010 Ford Ranger Review:
Nice looking truck. This is my second ranger. Really loved my first one 2000 V6 3L not 4 x4. Ran a lot better then the 4L V6. I understand it is a 4 x 4 but OMG it swallows the gas. If I had known, would have bought a F-150 with the flex fuel.

Though the style hasn't changed in years, it's simple and pleasing, a basic truck.

I like the mirrors big and easy to see each side of the truck, I also am a smoker Ford gives you an ashtray and a lighter witch most don't now a days. The new safety equipment on the 2010 is a plus, seats are comfortable for long rides plenty of room, I'm 6,1. The truck is perfect for my small hauling, home and work needs, a joy to drive.

I have the 4 cylinder, should have upped the horse power more for the engine.
Would have liked touch controls on steering wheel.
Bed should have come with some sort of liner sprayed or other type.
Engine noise a little loud.

2010 RANGER SPORT. I AM 62 AND THIS IS MY FIRST FORD. LOVE THIS TRUCK. HAD A 91 ISUZU FOR 19 YEARS.
GREAT SOUND SYSTEM.
LOVE THE STIFF RIDE OF THE SPORT.
LIKE THE WAY THE SPORT SITS UP HIGHER THAN THE XLT.

THE SEATS ARE A LITTLE FIRM BUT I CAN LIVE WITH IT. THE SEATS NEED TO GO UP A LITTLE MORE TO GAIN ACCESS TO THE EXTENDED AREA OF THE CAB. KIND OF TIGHT TRYING TO REACH SOMETHING BEHIND THE SEATS.

WOULD LIKE TO HAVE VOLUME CONTROLS FOR THE RADIO ON THE STEERING WHEEL FOR A 26000 DOLLAR TRUCK.
