Review Guide:
5=Perfect; 3=Good; 1=Poor

Guide: 5=Perfect; 3=Good; 1=PoorPros: What do you like about 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid?
Great pick up.
Great looks.
Great interior.
Great gas mileage.
Cons: How would you improve 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid?
Would offer a standard suspension with 16 tires and wheels with shock absorbers set for a softer ride. The ride was so stiff and whacking that I took a big loss after six months and dumped it for a 2010 Fusion SEL AWD V6 which is quite a bit better, but still too stiff except for kiddies that enjoy bouncing over bumps!
The cheap plastic used in the bumper covers breaks much too easily, is expensive to repair and terrible for insurance rates. Steel bumpers and less plastic, please!
To design an independent rear suspension and then stiffen it up so that the wheels don't move to absorb bumps, but the car body does, what I call waddling. I defy anyone with a late model Ford Fusion to follow my old 1971 T-Bird down a severe wash board road.....you will bounce all over and end up in a ditch!
2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid Review:
Great car except for ill conceived suspension with no compliance on bumps. The new Mustang does better with a live (solid) axle. The Fusion five link rear suspension is so stiff as to render it unacceptable except to modern days children who drive and design it. I am selling my SEL AWD and going back to my '71 T-Bird which rides better than the Avalon, looks better, and is more comfortable and has far better vision. My Fusion reminds me of living in a cave with the hideous large head rests.

Guide: 5=Perfect; 3=Good; 1=PoorPros: What do you like about 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid?
Great acceleration and quick response at any speed.
Transmission is positive and reacts instantly unlike the V6 automatic that is slow to respond and hunts and pecks for a lower gear when downshifting.
Mileage is great, averaging around 39 mpg.
Great radio and electronics.
Great brakes and love the back up camera and beeper when I am about to back into something.
No gas engine can match the instant torque of the electric motor.
Love the outside and everything about the interior except that it is hard for me to get in.
Cons: How would you improve 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid?
I would soften the ride a bit and offer 16" tires for a softer, more comfortable ride. My hybrid is terrible riding over anything but the smoothest roads. It is a family sedan, not a road racer and doesn't need to be as stiff as the Fusion Sport, but is. In fact, it has a stiffer suspension than the Fusion Sport. The younger generation is used to whacking and jolting over bumps, but not the older generation. It is sad that many used to be Ford owners have to buy Toyota Avalons to get a smooth, comfortable ride.
2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid Review:
A World Class car except for the harsh, jolting ride. I wouldn't consider sitting in the back seat going over rough road, it's rough enough in the front seat. I am trading my 2010 Fusion Hybrid for a more comfortable ride.

Guide: 5=Perfect; 3=Good; 1=PoorPros: What do you like about 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid?
This car is fun to drive. I laugh at rush hour traffic as my mileage increases the more I'm in it.
If you have a hard time parking, just cruise around in electric and save gas!!
Easy access for the whole family.
Navigation, Blue Tooth, USB and stereo are top knotch.
Acceleration and handling is great.
Cons: How would you improve 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid?
Suspension is stiff and steering very tight. This just takes time to get use to.
I haven't needed any non-routine maintenance but it is not DIY forgiving.
I avoid mud like the plague!!
2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid Review:
Driving it is fun. Being a passenger is relaxing. What more can you possibly want from a car- except easy maintainability!!

Guide: 5=Perfect; 3=Good; 1=PoorPros: What do you like about 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid?
Styling.
Microsoft sync.
Drives well (that is when I have it and it is not in the shop).
Mileage for a midsize car is great. Getting the 41MPG is tough but I get around 36 MPG.
Cons: How would you improve 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid?
Been in the shop 3 times in the first 4 months of ownership. The last time was the most concerning. I was driving on the highway and the car just shut down. So I pulled over to the breakdown lane (fortunately there was one as there is not always a breakdown lane in Boston). Turned the key to the off position and back to on and was able to drive the car. That is right, a simple reboot as you would your computer. Needed some part that had to come directly from the manufacturer.
2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid Review:
Now that I have had these problems and looked to see if anyone else is having similar problems they are popping up all over the place. I have seen several other people that have been in an out of the shop in the first 6 months. I am praying that the thing keeps breaking down this year so that I can qualify for the lemon law. In short, don't buy this yet. Wait another year at least until they work out all the kinks.

Guide: 5=Perfect; 3=Good; 1=PoorPros: What do you like about 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid?
Pretty much everything.
Rides like a big car.
Gas mileage is great.
Cons: How would you improve 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid?
Make a little more head room. I am 5 ft 10 inches and my head just about touches the headliner.
Could use a little more trunk room.
2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid Review:
So far a great car. Somewhat concerned about the possibility of a software problem with the braking system. Have not experienced any braking situations yet. Have approx 1600 miles on the odometer.

Guide: 5=Perfect; 3=Good; 1=PoorPros: What do you like about 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid?
Nice quiet ride, plenty of pep.
I like all the bells and whistles that are available, some were standard.
Averaging around 39 mpg overall (mostly highway).
Cons: How would you improve 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid?
Have no complaints other than the hybrid's reduced trunk space. I have owned it 5 months and have over 11,000 miles on it.
2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid Review:
I was looking to replace my 2006 VW Jetta TDI with the new clean diesel. I discovered that most the options on my 2006 were no longer available on the new TDI (dual climate controls for example). Pleasantly surprised to find that was standard on Ford Hybrid. I was happy to be able to go back to Ford and get similar mileage without searching for and paying the higher cost of diesel.

Guide: 5=Perfect; 3=Good; 1=PoorPros: What do you like about 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid?
Passing gas stations.
Driving is like a video game.
Lots of room for family.
Cons: How would you improve 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid?
Some of the controls take awhile to get use to. I had to buy a Lock Pik to enable some of the controls while driving (dvd, full navigation and rear camera). But on Ford's side, it is a liability and the Lock Pik was readily available.
2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid Review:
Very accurate. If Ford continues, it will be a top notch manufacturer and not just an American manufacturer.

Guide: 5=Perfect; 3=Good; 1=PoorPros: What do you like about 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid?
The car is surprisingly nimble. It reacts very well to the accelerator and handle turning. I never expected that a hybrid would be fun to drive. Fusion definitely drives better than Prius or Insight.
Cons: How would you improve 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid?
I wish Ford would higher more exciting car designers. Just look at some of the stuff that these young designers are coming out in California, Spain and Italy.
2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid Review:
Lover the car, hate the design.

Guide: 5=Perfect; 3=Good; 1=PoorPros: What do you like about 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid?
Rides like a dream.
Averaging over 42mpg in first week with the car.
Cons: How would you improve 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid?
Turn signals are too noisy.
