Great on the hwy. Super gas mileage for a fullsize car my wife drives it everyday and we put about 20 dollars a week in it. The 2.5 liter has more than enough power. Lots of room inside there are 5 of us. It's a quiet car inside and out. Cons: How would you improve 2009 Nissan Altima? The only one I can think of is the sound of the engine. I personally don't care. For me it's about gas mileage over performance but for those of you out there who like the throaty sound the 2.5 liter sounds like a sawing machine. 2009 Nissan Altima Review: Great car. We have had it 6 months now and it's been so nice to own. Owned last car was a GM Saturn - just junk in 4 years with only 30,000 k on it. It fell apart, from leeks, to the front end always in for service. But thanks to Nissan they have put out an allround good car for the money we spent. Exterior styling greatly improved over our '05. Cons: How would you improve 2009 Nissan Altima? Rough idle, does not matter if the engine is hot or cold. Metal on metal vibration (rattling) noise that comes and goes through out the RPM range. The dealership has not been able to find or fix the later problem after three separate visits. 2009 Nissan Altima Review: We traded in or '05 Altima V6 SE for the new '09 Altima V6 SE. I honestly wish we would have kept the '05. From the engine idle to the rattling noise I am just not happy with the new one. The '05 was just a better car. No noise and a smooth idle plus it had a better stereo system (speed sensitive volume, speakers, etc.). The CVT transmission really is not that exciting. It's different... but I would honestly rather feel the shifts. I personally feel Nissan went backwards with the '09. I have only had my car for a month but I am a previous owner of a 2006 Altima and I am so glad I trade the other one in. A lot of customers say that this car's engine makes a lot of noise but compared to the 2006 model it is quite as a mouse.
