***The rear brake pads wear far too quickly. Less than 5000 kms and the brakes are squealing like crazy. Honda is aware of the issue (although they claim it's regular wear and tear), but are not doing anything to resolve the issue*** 2009 Honda Accord Review:
I fell in love with the new design. It looks great and drives well. I purchased the 4-door EX-L model in a manual transmission. I did a large amount of research before purchasing this car and found that it was really the best car for the price. The Honda Accord has always been a leader in its class for many reasons: reliability, performance and value.
All of this to say, I am extremely disappointed in my vehicle purchase. Apparently I should have done just a bit more research. The squealing brakes after less than 5000 kms (about 3000 miles) are completely unacceptable. I would never recommend purchasing this 2009 (or the 2008 model which has the exact same issue) model to anyone. It is not worth the hassle of having your pads/rotors replaced every 10,000 kms.
Honda has disappointed hundreds, if not thousands, of people by creating, marketing and selling such a product. Not only is the product disappointing, but so is Honda's response (or lack thereof) to the issue. Just because you have years of reliability behind you, does not mean it's ok to slack off and ignore the copious amounts of complaints you receive.
My advice: Do not buy this vehicle until Honda decides to issue a recall and fix this problem that cannot be ignored. |

I really like:
the sleek style of both the interior and exterior,
great gas mileage,
love handling on curves,
strong engine performance,
folding back seat,

NOISE, NOISE, NOISE! I am really disappointed in all the noise heard inside the car. This is especially true at higher speeds.
I purchased my car late Aug 09, have taken it back to the dealer 3 times regarding all the noise and have been told "this is normal" or "I don't hear anything".
Honda, the NOISE is a problem that shouldn't be ignored or dismissed so easily. Listen to your customers... 2009 Honda Accord Review:
The purchase of my 2009 Accord was a BIG deal for me. I really splurged and paid more than I normally would not have paid this much for a car, but I liked the 2009 Body style and performance - this and HONDA's great reputation - I couldn't go wrong, right?.
Wrong! As much as I like the car, if it were possible, I would have returned this car because I am so unhappy with the interior noise and the HONDA's response. |

Bought a 4cyl. LX earlier this month and am pleased with the purchase.
Exterior looks great.
Interior has a lot of room, especially the back seating area. Plenty of leg and head room.
Engine is adequate for the size of the car.
Has a sporty ride to it and handles very well in turns and curves. Cons: How would you improve 2009 Honda Accord?
Drivers seat could be more comfortable.
Have also noticed a noise issue at higher speeds.

DO NOT BUY, this car has inherent chassis or powertrain engineered design flaws causing ride vibrations and poor brake designs. My 2008 has constant nuisance vibrations in floor, seat, and steering wheel shimmy. Three sets of tires tried to eliminate vibrations with no resolution (can Michelin, Bridgestone and Continental really be the problem) Road force balanced each set of tires and did 4 wheel alignments each time with everything in spec but no cure to vibration in ride. Vibration is a design flaw, possible the cylinder management of the V6 or transaxle. Oh yeah, then there are the brake issues. Rotors turned at 17000, caliper falls off two weeks later after pin vibrates out. New front rotors at 25000. Rear brake pads at 30000 show 90% on outside but only 10% on inside. |

I get an annoying vibration at 60-65 mph. I hope Honda soon addresses this. Also not sure if I like the grade logic control in the tranny. There are times during driving that I would like to disable it. This feature only benefits those that don't know how to downshift down hills to save the brakes. 2009 Honda Accord Review:
Overall a nice car. I do believe that it's somewhat overrated by consumer reports. The vibration is really the only disappointment for me. Honda says it's normal. I say it is not! |

Very good styling, though that is subjective. Fairly quiet. Reasonably roomy. I am 6'3" and with the front seat adjusted for me there is still plenty of leg room in the rear. Cons: How would you improve 2009 Honda Accord?
Ride is somewhat harsh. Seats are hard but do hold you in place well. 2009 Honda Accord Review:
Traded in a 2001 Toyota Avalon. The Accord is not as comfortable as the Avalon was, but certainly has all the bells and whistles. I do miss the memory seats that the Avalon had. V-6 Accord is getting better fuel economy then the Avalon and seems to have a slight edge on power. All in all am very happy with the car. |

Excellent value for money (Got my LX for 19+) with more features than a Camry, looks amazing especially in black, gives me approx 24mpg-25mpg for city and 27-29 mpg hwy.
The 177 hp engine strains especially when going up hill with 5 passengers but it's adequate with passable torque.
Plenty of space in the engine bay for a performance intake and other customizations but then you'll lose the mpg.
Very spacious interior with a large trunk.
Excellent handling and braking with a very smooth ride. Cons: How would you improve 2009 Honda Accord?
Center stack takes getting used to and it's not a comfy long distance car especially where the lower lumbar region is concerned so buy a small cushion. 2009 Honda Accord Review:
Highly recommend this car in the LX version purely for economical, practical and reliability reasons...and it is fun to drive. I was extremely tempted to buy the EX V6 but then with that kind of price tag, I'd have gone for a 2006 M3 or an 06 Audi S4. |
