2009 Dodge Grand Caravan Review:
I bought a new 2009 Grand Caravan in September 2009. When I start, the exhaust system vibrates and creates noise, and get quite when it warms up.
Also when it is running between 17 to 20 KM per hour, I can feel the transmission shifting.
I showed it to the Dodge services twice, they said it is normal. Please let me know if it OK or not.

Cons: How would you improve 2009 Dodge Grand Caravan?
Would not recommend! Bought one reluctantly in 2005 because Honda did not have Stow & Go. Had Honda (have 2nd one now) for years. Current Honda +10 years and going. Same with other friends and family. Maintain well and now hope for another 10 years. Thought would give GM a try. 20,000km later door repair. 30,000, engine repair/recall. 40,000,a few thousand $$ engine repair. Now at 55,000, water pump needs replacing and steering stuff - $1,000+. Point being, quality vs quantity. How can GM get out of a hole with such vehicles? Yes, they are getting out therefore, am I one of the unfortunate >1% (you know, the usual excuse of service personnel or, people buying domestic vehicles haven't figured out that Honda and even, Toyota are just better vehicles? Had the Dodge Grand Caravan SI for 5 years this Feb 2010. MAYBE will last another 5 years. Next vehicle, guess? Make an idiot out of me once, shame on you. Make an idiot out of me twice, well, shame on me - BUT, I think not!

Pros: What do you like about 2009 Dodge Grand Caravan?
I love the power of the 4l engine and the peace of mind of the transmission cooler included in the tow package.

Cons: How would you improve 2009 Dodge Grand Caravan?
The vehicle exterior panels have gone back several times for re adjustment, ie... gaps wider at the top then at the bottom doors not hung right etc.

What really bothers me is the self adjusting rear shocks. Included in the tow package are self leveling shocks. (Sounds great right..WRONG). You have to drive 1.6 klm's in order for them to preform to their potential.

This is unacceptable when starting off from a provincial camp ground site or just coming off an inclined drive way. Once charged they work perfectly but don't stop anywhere for a bite to eat or do any shopping or your back to the 1.6 klms again. My dealership said just jump up and down on the hitch for awhile:(....I told him to go to hell).......Don't try driving around the park for awhile before hooking up either cause you need the load in order to charge the shocks.. This to me is an unacceptable Chrysler product and I won't stop saying so until it is rectified or compensated.

All else said other than the cruddy shocks I would endorse Dodge Grand Caravan as a very safe secure and family friendly vehicle... My wife loves it..:)
