Guide: 5=Perfect; 3=Good; 1=PoorPros: What do you like about 2007 Bentley Continental?
I own a Flying Spur. It's quite fast, and relatively quiet except for tire noise, and a recent shrill sound in the cabin the dealer was too busy to diagnose/fix prior to a long trip.
Cons: How would you improve 2007 Bentley Continental?
Quieter cabin.
Better paint (my car has paint peeling in about 5 places right now and Bentley Motors has not fixed it).
Accurate speedo (my speedo is off by 7% and Bentley Motors refuses to calibrate it, calling the defect a "design feature").
Accurate odometer (it is off by about 2%).
The car throws codes seemingly at random, many of which must be reset at the dealership, which will likely get expensive when the car is out of (extended) warranty.
The car itself is fun to drive, but Bentley Motors has been so hateful to deal with that I would never purchase another Bentley.
Improve the GPS. The system takes forever to program a new address in, and is often just plain wrong.
2007 Bentley Continental Review:
Nice to drive with quite enough power (until one drives a Speed version). Good ride and comfy cabin. All that is marred/spoiled by Bentley Motors' hateful behavior towards its customers. My Flying Spur (which, when we purchased it, had never been owned by anyone but Bentley Motors and the dealer) now has paint peeling in a bunch of places, an inaccurate speedo, an inaccurate odometer, throws codes seemingly at random, and is now plagued by a shrill noise in the cockpit the dealer was too busy to fix prior to a 7000 mile trip. For us at least, owning a car is not just owning a car, it's an experience and a relationship. The folks at Bentley Motors have been so hateful and pompous that the entire ownership experience is marred by that. On such a complex and expensive vehicle, manufacturer support is key. While Bentley did replace my sagging headliner under warranty (which must have been $$$) and a few other items, they've been intractably hateful regarding other ongoing issues, and, unless you're the sort of person who buys a car to drive it for a year then dumps it (our plan was to amortize the purchase over 10 or 15 years), I'd suggest you buy something from a manufacturer who cares.
