What do you like about 2008 Saturn AURA? The XE V-6 has plenty of power, and pulls flat and true. The four speed automatic is almost in perceptible in its operation. The entire design is modern, elegant, and I do not think it will age well. The care handles well without a punishing ride, and it is extremely quiet.
How would you improve 2008 Saturn AURA? Some of the storage bin cover feel cheap to the touch, and the rubbery stuff on the center arm rest could be a bit better. The arm rests on the doors could use a bit better grade of softer plastic, or some type of cloth. A five or six speed automatic to bump up MPG, which is only fair.
2008 Saturn AURA Review: I traded in '05 New Jetta after having a lot of electrical gremlins. The Aura is a whole lot more quiet, and the compromise between handling and ride is much better than in any of the three VW products I have owned. The drive train runs very well, and passing power is always plentiful and instantly accessible. I do think the look of the interior is great, and ergonomically equal or superior to anything else on the market. I test drove a new Accord, and the layout of the Aura is far better, and it looks at least as good if not better. While the Accord also had a few budget crunching issues with the interior the Aura has a few more cheap plastic bits. The base stereo in the car is far better than the Accord stereo, and as good as my up market VW system. However, my only complaint about the drive train is the mediocre MPG. It's not terrible, but I think a two more gears in the transmission would go far to fix this sin. Obviously, the car looks great. I think better than its sister Malibu, and definitely a step above the new Accord, and Camry. I would suggest it to anyone looking for a nice mid-sized family sedan. Especially, for someone who is not overly concerned about trips to the gas pump.
