4.0 L V6 very powerful
Rear trunk space roomy
Easy fold down seats
Great visibility
Cuts through Colorado snow like butter
Looks and drives awesome!

You can improve on anything great if you are willing to pay for more it. For what we paid we love it just the way it is (Get the S model and above though).

The rugged looks of the "OFF ROAD" model.The strong motor.The value as compared with other 4x4 SUV's.

Cons: How would you improve 2008 Nissan Xterra?
Better gas milage would be nice. However,one should not expect power without having to feed the ponies. Buy a hybrid or a gutless 4-banger if you're the AL GORE type. Stuff skates around everywhere in the cargo area.

Love my 2008 "X" OFF ROAD. Runs strong and looks strong. Drops other SUV's at the stop light and where the pavement ends.

I recently bought mine. we used to pull our 3500 lb boat with a v10 dodge ram farm truck. it was in the shop so we decided to try the xterra. it not only pulled the boat better but fit five adults inside. i love my truck

the amount of space to get in and out of the back seat is kind of tight.

I would highly recomend anyone looking for a true suv to take a serious look at a new xterra. its a solid performer whos only down side is the rear seat. its good on road, and with a slightly more aggresive tire, excellent off.

For "4 Guys and Their Stuff" to go to the ends of the earth canoeing and then return to normal family life with a wife and 2 young kids, this was the best set of compromises for me. I wanted a manual transmission too.

Cons: How would you improve 2008 Nissan Xterra?
Tow hooks at all corners, better tires from factory - OEM not good enough in snow, better lateral support in seats, winter wiper for rear, switch gear could be more substantial, Shrockworks rock rails instead of useless factory side step bars, fuel economy has been as advertised for city driving when in fact I drive mostly highway - but it is winter and I'm only at 5000km

2008 Nissan Xterra Review:
I love my 2008 Xterra OR M6. The possible improvements aren't anything huge or unreasonable. I haven't been off road in it yet but have no reason to doubt it abilities - This is a solid, powerful, unpretentious vehicle; it will bounce you around, as it should, but it does it (almost too) quietly. Take note of recommended shift points for max. fuel efficiency. Make yourself a mat for the cargo area (<$20).
