2008 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class

Pros: What do you like about 2006 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class?
I just feel like a different person when I get into this car, put the top down and steal some time to myself!

The DESIGN is something to die for. The first one I saw was in Las Vegas and I had to have one.

I bought mine in the blue that is really silver but I wish I had purchased black.
The cup holders really suck, but I can live with that!

Watch out for the cup holders and electronic parts on this car. Especially the design of its cup holders, any cups with liquid could be spilled into the GPS unit, that results in minimum of $7000 to fix it. Mercedes is not responsible for its ill design on the cup holders.

Re work on the cup holders, put a lid to prevent liquid spill.

I've owned Porsche 996's, Boxsters, BMW,s etc. and nothing comes close to the overall quality of the SL55 AMG. From acceleration to ride quality, it's simply superb.

Stiffen the torsional rigidity. The car has a bit of flex. Additionally there is an electrical gremlin in the stereo.

2007 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class Review:
Although there are quicker and better overall performing exotics, as a true daily driver the SL 55AMG is very tough to beat. The car does everything you want it to and with the roof being able to effortlessly disappear, an owner has seemingly two cars for the price of (you fill in the blank). Simply put, the SL 55AMG is indeed the standard by which other two door coupes are judged. Although the V12 600 & 65AMGs are available, I would question the benefit of the additional complexity associated with those equally attractive alternatives.

Pros: What do you like about 2007 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class?
The new engine. Much better fit with the car's weight. Subtle around town, but invigorating when opened up.

More space in the trunk...a weekend of clothes and two sets of golfclubs...

It's one of the most beautiful Mercedes ever. It is like owning two different cars, a coupe and a roadster. If you want what it is, you'll be delighted. If you want what other more practical cars are, you'll be disappointed.
