2008 Honda Civic

Pros: What do you like about 2008 Honda Civic?
Styling inside and out.
Gas mileage--averaging 33 mpg mixed driving mostly freeway.
Precise handling--very sporty response.
Steering very tight.
For a four cylinder lively acceleration..no barn burner but more than enough pick up when you need it.
Very happy--getting 50% better mpg than my 6 cyl Taurus.

Cons: How would you improve 2008 Honda Civic?
Radio is a bit wimpy.
The E-brake handle does hit your leg, but padded it with some pipe insulation and solved the issue.

2008 Honda Civic Review:
This Civic in my opinion is the best car for under 20K. You have the reputation of Honda quality, very nice performance, superior MPG, great looking car. People who complain that their mileage is not good are probably accelerating too aggressively. Drive conservatively and the car will reward you with great MPGs. Drive it aggressively and MPGs go down. Have tried both ways--big difference when you take it easy off the line.

People who complain about the air conditioning should try turning the air vents toward their overheated bodies. I personally think the AC works very well.

If you are looking for a nice, affordable, high MPG car, get a Civic. Nuf said.

Fix the damn rear tire cupping issue. I own an 07 civic and an 08 civic coupe. Both vehicles exhibit this issue. Honda repaired the control arm issue on the rear but wouldn't anti up for the tire replacements. On the 08, not their issue they say as it has the new one supposedly that fixes it.

Honda, you are losing customers. Fix the damn problem. Don't pull a Toyota.

AFTER 38000 MILES THE REAR END WAS VERY LOUD. THE TIRES KEPT WEARING OUT. AFTER SEVERAL VISITS TO DEALER I WAS TOLD IT WOULD NEED ABOUT $1500 IN REPAIRS TO REPLACE THE WORN OUT SUSPENSION SYSTEM IN THE REAR.
SEATING GAVE ME PROBLEMS IN MY BACK AND BOTTOM AREAS. VERY UNCOMFORTABLE.
SUN VISORS KEPT FALLING APART.
THE PHONE PLUG KEPT BLOWING FUSES.

TRADED IT IN FOR A HYUNDAI ELANTRA, 15000 MILES NO PROBLEM. ALSO BOUGHT A SONATA 3 MONTHS LATER, 20,000 MILES NO PROBLEM. VERY,VERY NICE CAR! NO MORE HONDAS OR TOYOTAS. BIG WARRANTY VERY REASONABLE PRICE, VERY, VERY COMFORTABLE. LOOKS GREAT, RIDES GREAT!

I love what you get for the money. Everything about it looks expensive, but it bought it for under 20k.

Love the digital speedometer, sleek styling inside and out, and the great gas mileage. Also, the standard Mp3 player is great.

I've had my civic for 2 years, and never encountered a single problem with how it runs.

Cons: How would you improve 2008 Honda Civic?
Tires. I thought I just got a bad batch until I started reading other reviews. I have 25k miles on my car, bought it brand-new, and my tires are completely bald. That should not happen.

Temperature reading should come standard.

Road noise is slightly excessive.

2008 Honda Civic Review:
Great car for the money. And I feel comfortable knowing that Honda is a reliable company. I will buy Honda again. The tire issue just needs to be fixed. I'm a college student and can't afford to buy a new set of tires every 25k miles.

But overall... great car!! would recommend to ANYONE!

Digital speedometer (on mine at least) is so NOT accurate.
Road noise is excessively loud especially on highway.
No power seats.
No auto headlights which I mistakenly thought was standard on cars nowadays.

Overall I like this car because I enjoy the gas mileage w/out having to sacrifice too much from my downgrade of a V6. I just really hope Honda gets it together when it comes to the road noise. Also I love the digital speedometer and wish everything was digital, but it NEEDS to be ACCURATE. While driving through the parking lot of my complex it continues to say I am going 25+ MPH even though I know for a fact that this is completely inaccurate because I'm a very defensive driver and would never drive through a parking lot or turn a corner going that speed and this is just one example.

I like the sport styling of the 2 door, the digital dash and the mpg.

Cons: How would you improve 2008 Honda Civic?
Definitely the ride needs to be improved; it has such a hard bumpy ride, very loud road noise; the shifting from a parked position is loud when engaged into drive; and most recently, I have had trouble starting it, despite the checks on the battery, start and charging system. The car is not even a year old yet. My front tires have already started to cup at 12,000 miles!

Honda also needs to get with the program and extend their warranty. 3/36 just doesn't cut it any more when you have 5/60 bumper to bumper with Hyundai and 10/100K powertrain, along with other manufacturers offering a lot longer warranty INCLUDED with the purchase.

2008 Honda Civic Review:
I don't believe I will be keeping this car very long. I had 2 Hyundai Elantras prior to this and I would have bought another Hyundai if they'd had a coupe other than the Tiburon, which insurance is just downright crazy. The Civic is the only other 2 door that caught my eye and was affordable, along with the supposed reliability and retention in value. I hope that holds true, the value retention, when I go to trade it in.

There is a significant problem with the 2008 4 Door Honda Civic. At 17,000 miles all four tires completely worn. Neither the local dealer nor the corporate customer support team will take action. Both AGREE that there is an issue with the car but will only fix the problem at the consumers expense even though the car was purchased new and has 17,000 miles.

Honda does not stand behind their product even when they agree there is an issue. I highly recommend NOT purchasing a Honda vehicle.

Love almost everything about it. It has plenty of power for the size and price, the interior feels high quality and it has all of the features I need in this price point.

Cons: How would you improve 2008 Honda Civic?
Eliminate the blind spot at the corners of the dash/windshield, make the transmission shift more smoothly, make outside temp readout standard fare.

2008 Honda Civic Review:
This is my first Honda and I have high expectations for the top name in Japanese cars. The interior is very pleasing to the eye and all of the materials seem high quality (aside from a few super-plastic bits). The seats are comfy enough for the price. The engine is great - the car has decent power for its size and price (remember this is an economy car, not a luxury sedan). The biggest gripe I have is with the transmission. It has a tendancy to lurch into first when coming to a stop which can be disconcerting.

I have the 2008 honda civic lx coupe.i love the style of the automobile.That is the first thing that really caught my eye about it.
I traded in a 2007 corolla
ce and lost much money on the trade.i think the quality of the corolla was better and more solid feeling and quiet.

Make it more insulated and more solid sounding.
I totally dislike both of the honda dealerships.
Hardcore and dont like telling the truth.Wish i would have gone to Phoenix
to buy my honda.
