I LOVE MY TAURUS. Cons: How would you improve 2008 Ford Taurus?
THERE WILL BE NO IMPROVEMENT, I WILL UNGOVERN THE CAR. WHY STOP AT 111MPH TOP END SPEED? WITH THE POWER IT GOT, IT SHOULD OF BEEN GOVERNED AT 140MPH, SO IT COULD BE UP WITH OTHER 3.5 COMPETITORS AUTO MAKERS. 2008 Ford Taurus Review:

I liked everything about Ford Taurus up until 25,000 miles. Then I started having problems. The front towers stated creaking and crunching. I took it back to the dealer four or five times to find out what the problem was. I was told they could find nothing wrong. The car is out of warranty now, the creaking and crunching is much worse. Today I had the brakes checked because of a grinding sound. The rear brake pads were partially metal to metal. This car has been maintained by Ford dealers from the start. They have rotated the tires and supposedly checked the car over every time. Now I have an expensive brake job to do. Never once was I told that I should do something with the brakes. This is a lease car and I liked it so much that I was going to purchase it. Not now. I am afraid of it now. I will pay the penalty for the over mileage. Cut my losses and run. Cons: How would you improve 2008 Ford Taurus?
Do something about service. Ford should help me with my problems. |

Everything about the 2008 Taurus is exactly what it should be for the price you are paying. It feels very solid, it's HUGE, holds 6 laundry baskets worth of clothing in the trunk. If the mob would have had this car, graveyards would be empty. Cons: How would you improve 2008 Ford Taurus?
The only issues I have with this car are the steering column not telescoping, should have a power telescope for this price/class, and the fuel economy sucks. I have an AWD though... 2008 Ford Taurus Review:
For the price, this car can't be beat. It looks better, handles better, rides smoother, etc... than any other car anywhere near this price range. Mine turns heads everywhere I go with after market MSW type 12 20" wheels. |

Large trunk and roomy interior.
Leather heated seats are very good. Cons: How would you improve 2008 Ford Taurus?
Not enough legroom for 6' driver. Needs two more inches of wheel base. Elevated driver seat raises center of gravity and makes car feel unstable in cornering. Further, the steering wheel does not telescope nor tilt downward far enough for a lower seating position if the seat could be lowered enough to improve the center of gravity. Compared to my 1996 Mercury Cougar, driving my 2008 Taurus just doesn't hack it. 2008 Ford Taurus Review:
The car is okay, and was bought because the center console was the only one I could find that met my need. Would not buy this car again if I had a better choice. |

Interior and trunk have max room, safety impact ratings are high-5s, leather seating very tastefully done, nice trim on doors and dash. Fit and finish is excellent. I get tired of people ragging American cars when they've never even owned one in years. Overall quality is great. There are so many options on the Limited that anyone should be pleased and find something they like. Love the Bluetooth and nice sound system. We got 24-26 mpg OKC-Chicago--usually get 20-22 in town. It's the best car we've ever owned. The current mileage: 19,000. Cons: How would you improve 2008 Ford Taurus?
The adjustment re tilt steering is basically non-existent when car is in motion. Our earlier Taurus had adjustment that was easy to use anytime, and didn't require max effort to engage. It's a shame that Ford puts so little marketing in the Taurus. |

improve gas mileage 18 -28 okay, but not real when cold more like 14. better floor mats, to catch winter water, dark carpet has salt stains. Make warrantee 6 year 100k base as with all the electronics you need to have this warrantee. White paint should be clearcoated like the other colors. RUST around chrome molding on trunk will wait till spring to get it fixed. Drivers seat could go a little further back. 2008 Ford Taurus Review:
Ride is good, solid and predictable. Unlike old Taurus (I've owned 11) it sounds solid when doors are shut etc. Sound system is good to great for a tin ear. The console could be a little lower as it’s tough to open passenger door while in driver’s seat. Overall best car I have ever owned |

New engine and transmission work great, car looks bold, maybe too much chrome, but it looks nice and is different than many look alike cars, ride and quietness very good Cons: How would you improve 2008 Ford Taurus?
Fit and finish is good and so are materials, but places like the trunk and the trim under the seats, and wire connections in trunk, engine, and rear view mirror seem unfinished. Better top line speakers and amp would be appropriate 2008 Ford Taurus Review:
Good ride, very quiet, and nice acceleration. Not as fast as a V8 Chrysler 300C or V6 Avalon, but on par with the V8 Buick LuCerne. Nice simple design, easy to use electronics, and great visibility add to the Value. Limited AWD is a bargain compared to competition. |

Plenty of power. Good outward visibility. Large rear seat room. Large trunk. Cons: How would you improve 2008 Ford Taurus?
Bigger front seats. They are too shallow, 19". Steering wheel needs to telescope like the Fusion and Focus. Also, it needs to tilt down further. Passanger seat needs more adjustments and lumbar support. 2008 Ford Taurus Review:
First trip. Highway mileage was 18.2 mpg with 4 passangers. 17.2 around town. Not very impressive. |
