| Pros: What do you like about 2008 Ford Focus?
This is the SES edition of the Ford Focus 2008 Vista Blue.
I liked it for about 5,000 miles then winter came.
Right off the bat there were some problems... Including Paint and Carpet when I purchased the vehicle. Noticed after washing it and cleaning for the first time. Cons: How would you improve 2008 Ford Focus?
During the winter, paint all over the surface of the car was scratched down to a white layer. I am guessing this is the primer, I work for the Milan plant where we make the fascias of the car, and there are paint issues directly in the factory. Which are usually ignored and then sent to the customer anyway.
I would suggest saving your money and not leasing this car like I did. Now I'm stuck with a car that has several problems, from the carpet coming up on the passenger side, which was replaced by the dealership to look even worse.
Poor Trim on the Dashboard, plastic cuts in the dash with extra plastic sticking up.
Rattles everywhere in the car, it sounds like there is a turkey in my car in the rear of it while driving. Which Ford dealers apparently can't locate.
The tires are already bald, I've rotated them 6 times. At 30,000 miles they were almost completely bald.
Fuel pump Issue - I can hear the pump giving out. I just replaced the filter awhile ago. Now the pump is making this loud squeal noise.
Rattles in the Dashboard, everywhere there are rattles in this car, the doors, the dash, the control cluster... Even where sync is situated I can hear it rattling. 2008 Ford Focus Review:
Since Ford will not fix my problems, and I work for the company. Is this because I purchased the car under the A Plan?
When I had a 2003 Honda Civic Hybrid, I never. Never had any issues with paint or anything and it had 300,000 miles on it and it was still great for a car!
Now I'm stuck buying this car, and I'll have to take a loss on it.
So I'll buy it for the $15,500 from the dealer even though according to everyone else it is only worth...

Horrible resale value.
I will never buy a Ford Again, where is the Ford Quality, and the Promise to fix.
With the paint scratched all over the roof, the trunk, the front bumper not lining up right, the solvent pops in the door. The whole thing would be better off scrapped and then sold for metal I think it would be worth more.

I have owned all sorts of vehicles....Dodge...Ford...Toyota...Chevy...Mazda and BMW. I have never, ever enjoyed a vehicle as much as I enjoy this one. The cabin is SUPER quiet, even when shifting gears(can barely hear the engine)and the shifting is smooth as butter. It handles awesome, the ride is very soft, has plenty of power, the seats are very comfortable, the Microsoft SYNC easily plays all my Artists on my Wolverine 5160(160GB). It took about 5 minutes or so to index all the files, but when it finished, I asked it to play whatever artist I wanted and it responded beautifully. Hands-Free phone conversation is another Gem with this vehicle. The person on the other end can hear your voice perfectly. This is the real Bluetooth! I have the Audiophile system and music sounds awesome with the built in Subwoofer in the trunk. Also, Ambient lighting is great as well. Do yourself a favor. If you want to get a great vehicle that is inexpensive, but has quality to boot, please look into this car. You will not be disappointed. Did I mention that this car gets around 35 miles per gallon as well. I am so happy about this car....Can Ya Tell? It's perfect in every way. |

i am 23 years old and i drive 60 miles a day... i gave up my 1993 Ford Escort for this car... i really really like it. i have the 5-speed, S. i get in and go no problems so far....... i am soon buying a borla exhaust for it. it's too quiet... everything i drive needs to be loud and it will give me some more horses. so far very pleased |

I like the style and the quiet of the cabin. It also rides very smoothly. It has more bells and whistles than I know how to operate yet at 17,000 miles. I do have auto trans. and ABS and a button on my key pad to open the trunk from anywhere. I don't see the necessity of an extra button in the cabin. Cons: How would you improve 2008 Ford Focus?
Make touch up paint match the color of the car. I ordered a small bottle to touch up tiny marks and it is darker than the original paint on car. 2008 Ford Focus Review:
I drive around town mostly so I don't get over 29-30 miles per gallon but when I do go on a trip, I can get up to 35 mpg. I'm glad I bought the car but I didn't get any concession and the finance co. (JPMorgan Chase) is hard to deal with even with a perfect record of payment. My recommendation is to NOT finance your car through them. |

after 1 winter and 9,000 miles the rear body kick out is dull and chipped away
at this rate in 2 years and 20,000 miles there will be no paint left on bottom of rear doors and doglegs. 2008 Ford Focus Review:

Having put on about 24,000 miles in less than a year, it's fair to say that I really like driving my Focus SE Coupe. The acceleration is very peppy (2.0 liter DOHC, makes 136 hp with strong torque) and it handles like a much more expensive European sports car. And, especially important today, the fuel economy is more than respectable. The EPA ratings are 27/35 and I'm averaging 32+ overall. Also, the styling is very sharp and I regulary get compliments from people who are unaware that it's a Focus. In addition, the stereo system sounds crystal clear and the speakers don't distort even at high volumes. Climate control is also solid. Good, cold A/C and although it hasn't been tested often as yet, the heating is very quick and effective. From a styling stance, it's been mistaken for a Honda Coupe, an Acura and even a BMW! So far, I have few complaints, except for one, and I'll elaborate on that below. Cons: How would you improve 2008 Ford Focus?
My only real complaint at this point is the ridiculous decision to NOT include a donut/spare tire with the car! The spare is an extra that the salespeople don't even mention (they didn't in my case) at the time of sale. What you'll find in the trunk, where the spare should be, is a "tire inflation kit," that is supposed to repair the tire by shooting some sealant goo into the tire and then an electric air compressor supposedly fills the tire and you're on your way. The reality? I got a flat in a very bad neighborhood (South Bronx) and the inflation kit did not work, since the puncture was on the side wall (this renders the kit useless) and I had to wait for roadside assistance to tow the car to a shop, where I needed to replace the tire. Why there's no spare as standard equipment on this car is beyond me--very poor decision on Ford's part. And, I find out after the fact that the cost for a "donut" spare, with a jacking kit, etc. is about $600! So, good luck to Focus owners who get a flat. I'm told by others that the tire inflation kit does actually work, but only if you're flat/puncture is in the tread! If it's not, you're left at mercy of skeeter and his tow truck! Why would Ford decide on a flat fix option that only works under certain conditions? Puzzling...I have yet to get an answer from Ford on this. 2008 Ford Focus Review:
Well, notwithstanding my obvious annoyance with the Focus' lack of a donut or spare tire, I would recommend the '08 version of the Focus as a sporty, fun-to-drive car that gets good fuel economy. Also, it's very competitively priced with other compact cars in the category. But, they really need to address this spare tire issue--it's very oft-putting, especially to unaware buyers. |

I just picked up a 2008 Vermillion Red Focus SE (Automatic). I like the over-all styling; fuel economy, comfortable interior, and solid feel. Cons: How would you improve 2008 Ford Focus?
The interior design is OK but not special - very utilitarian, but didn't expect much more in a car in this pricee range. The 2.0 litre engine is more quiet than expected, but its still a little four-banger and that means inherent quirky noise and some vibration. 2008 Ford Focus Review:
I bought this car, just because I needed a reasonable daily driver car. It was priced right (WOW - even had $3500 discount rebates - can't beat that!) The car handles very well. More acceleration than I expected. Car was built tight and quiet. This is a lot more car than the sticker would indicate. I am very pleased! |

So far, this is a great little car. With the automatic transmission its not peppy, but it does get great mileage. It may not be quick, but it handles better than any other car I've ever owned.
It has more rear seat leg room than any other car I test drove (09 Corolla, Sentra, Civic.) It has a lot of head room and feels a lot bigger than it really is. Sync is fantastic, I own my own business and having hands free phone on the road can be a life saver (literally). The styling is a love it or hate it design, personally I love it.
I highly recommend the new Focus. |

I'm surprised by the solid feel when closing doors, cornering, etc. I downscaled from a Toyota Tundra (can you say gas prices?) It has been 35+ years since owning an american sedan. It's a three year lease. This will give me a chance to see if the quality has improved in American companies. I'm really hoping they have finally realized (thank you Toyota!) that sub-standard cars will stay in their dealership's parking lots.
Go America!!!!! If this car performs like this for three years,(I hope my boys aren't listening), I'll consider purchasing a Ford in the future. My first car was a Ford Mustang, (I've despised and made fun of them ever since (1970), maybe my last will be a Ford. I've been looking overseas long enough! My boys do like the styling of new focus. I'll have to reprogram them! |

I absolutely adore the fact that the Focus is a major change to the previous generations of Focuses. I also love love love the interior of the vehicle and the frony of the car that makes it unique. Cons: How would you improve 2008 Ford Focus?
I would have to say the rear of the car, because it looses the focus of the feel of the car and the taillights need to be bigger! I also would like to see way more standard safety features and a increase on the poor gas mileage! 2008 Ford Focus Review:
