I love the gas milage on the car. I have cut down on my gas costs alot since I purchased the car. Drives well and has a great warranty. Cons: How would you improve 2008 Ford Escape Hybrid?

It is a fun vehicle to drive..easy in traffic, plenty of interior room, lots of pickup for a small SUV, and love the color green! Cons: How would you improve 2008 Ford Escape Hybrid?
The "winter" gas mileage is misleading..it isn't good. It's more of a warm weather vehicle...gas mileage questionable. I would love to see that improved. 2008 Ford Escape Hybrid Review:

The lines are strong for 2008 - higher-set doors, hoodline, front-end. My wife and I love the new styling. The fule economy is great for a smaller SUV. Cons: How would you improve 2008 Ford Escape Hybrid?
Front-seat interior room is limited - not much room for turning around in your seat or storage for extras I've become accostomed to carrying in the front of the car with me. I traded in a Chevy Suburban for the fuel economy - but feel cramped in this front seat area. 2008 Ford Escape Hybrid Review:
To compare this vehicle to it's competition - the Saturn VUE, and the Toyota Highlander, Ford Escape Hybrid steps out and away the winner in my eyes. Fit and finish are superior to the Saturn and the price difference makes the Toyota Hybrid SUV out of our reach - we are satisfied we made a good choice and after 9,000 miles, have NO complaints with its performance. |

Very pleased with the utility nature of this vehicle. The hybrid technology needs some getting used to and adapting ones driving habits for best fuel economy. After 1000 miles of driving the 2008, I have had no problems. I am not so sure the $695 cost of the upgraded audio system is worth its cost as I don't think the "audophile" system in this vehicle is nearly as good as the one in my 2004 F150. Brakes take some getting used to as they work differently depending on the stage they are in when applied.
Overall, a great little suv that serves it's purpose as much as I expected. |

Seats are very firm with lack of lumbar support. Better design of rear seats when folded, need a place to store head rests. 2008 Ford Escape Hybrid Review:

Overall, I love my escape hybrid. I drove a Liberty before and loved everything except the fuel consumption. The escape hybrid compares well to the Liberty except for the convenience of the parking brake placement, steering wheel mounted radio controls, and information center that doesn't allow me to check things like tire pressure. |

Fuel economy, once the engine has warmed up, you can drive through town (up to 28 MPH) on battery power. Everytime you brake, it recharges the battery. Cons: How would you improve 2008 Ford Escape Hybrid?

got the full meal deal and love it.we tow it behind our motorhome, perfect. fold the back seats down flat, it holds 15 18 gallon rubbermaid tubs.
absolutely no complaints about power. seats are very comfey, and gets 29 to 32 mpg, about 400 miles per tank.
also burns 85% corn squeezins. what more could you ask for, energy credits on your tax returns, oh yeah. Cons: How would you improve 2008 Ford Escape Hybrid?

I like the smooth look of the new 2008 Ford Escape, especially with the chrome in the front. But, I just purchased on 8/27/07 and the rubber is coming off the doors already (9/12/07). Six days after purchasing the cable line to the accelerator broke (dangerous). Cons: How would you improve 2008 Ford Escape Hybrid?
The Escape simply does not have enough power. I am almost afraid to drive on the highway. It's just barely over the summer and the wind blows the vehicle on the highway at a speed of 55 mph. Even with traction control on and in the rain, the tires seem very unsafe. This is just not a good safe car and Ford can do better than this! This car is okay for someone who just goes to the grocery store only. 2008 Ford Escape Hybrid Review:
Please do not purchase this car without research and careful consideration. If you plan to drive children and/or other family members. Remember, this car does not feel safe. It is however, beautiful. |
