| Pros: What do you like about 2008 Dodge Avenger?
I have a Black 2008 SXT automatic (bought in August 2007) with rear spoiler - very sharp car at first glance. Cons: How would you improve 2008 Dodge Avenger?
The speakers have been replaced, the turn signals stay on after you turn them off, tire monitoring replaced, trunk lid leaks water in when you open it.
There has been a front end noise since the first week of driving they can't duplicate it and now it's louder than ever.
Interior scratches easily - cheap plastic chrome look alikes around gear shift.
Exterior paint looses its luster very quickly.
Been in for numerous recalls.
Very noisy ride on freeway.
Not much power in the 4cyl. 2008 Dodge Avenger Review:

Seats uncomfortable.
No leg room.
No power.

Haven't had car for 2 years, already been in and out of shop. Nothing that was covered under the warranty, of course! Not even when it wouldn't shift out of park and left me stranded. Would never suggest this car to ANYONE! Wish I would have gotten the Toyota Camry!!!!!! |

Our family is a Dodge family. However I bought my 2008 avenger in Dec. 07 and by Mar. of 08 I had it in the shop for a oil leak which they finally got fixed 3 trips to the service dept. later. Then had a recall on the door latches. Fixed that! This week 9/1 shifter broke just got fixed today. Bad vibration in front end. Service dept. said rotors needed turned. Pd 125.00 for two front rotors to be turned. Some vibration still there so they now say the rear rotors need to be turned. This car is not even two years old yet and what is going to happen next. I have a 1997 Dodge Ram 3500 dualie and it has been in shop one time in 12 years other then normal maintenance. |

Looks like a mini charger! Much more unique than other vehicles that you see everyday on the road. Cons: How would you improve 2008 Dodge Avenger?

This car is great. I haven't had any problems with the car since I had it. The only thing would be the blind spots in the back but I don't care since the car looks awesome. Dodge, keep up the good work on making cars that are eye appealing and good on gas. |

The Motor, it is not a 100,000 mile car. But the price is there so you can't say you get what you pay for. You're going to pay double with this car!!! 2008 Dodge Avenger Review:
My car has 30,000 miles, I had to replace the gear shift, my engine light is on, my gas cap light is on. I replaced the gas cap, had the engine light reset and still they are both on!!! Now they tell me it's the oxygen sensor. One problem after another!! |

Mine is a total lemon, engine blew after 15,000 miles. All electronics have gone out, in and out of dealership numerous time. You can do better. |

The enterior is nice.

Engine (4 cyl) does need some help.
Seats are under cushioned.
My wife has a 08 with 12,000 miles and it will not shift in gear. Not good for a new car. 2008 Dodge Avenger Review:
Overall it's an ok car. The nice exterior styling is what saves the day for the Avenger. Overall I rate it at a 3. |

Visibility needs to improve for side and rear. 2008 Dodge Avenger Review:
Vehicle is easy to drive and the my gig system is very nice, although the ability to delete specific songs would have been nice. The car responds well to the driver's needs and the 2.7l engine gives it plenty of acceleration for a 4 cylindar sedan.
the only thing the vehicle needs is a true bumper for the front and rear, rather than the plasic bumpers most cars are equipped with today.
Also, Dodge should put daytime running lights on all its vehicles. |

Dear Lord, where to begin. My company purchased five of these things as fleet replacement vehicles. I have less than a week behind the wheel of this beast and I'm ready to drive it over a cliff. To be fair, our units all have the grossly underpowered 2.4 liter 4 cyl engine. That sublime fact notwithstanding, the other negatives so far outweigh the positives that I am searching first for something good to say. How about this. The sound system is quite acceptable, and I really like the "aux" port for my MP3 player. I am pleased that the system is almost distortion free at higher volumes, because I have to crank it up about two-thirds to hear over the ever present road noise and the surging and roaring of the valiantly struggling little engine. Now, I will be charitable in describing the interior "appointments" as Spartan. Why Chrysler even bothered with a back seat is beyond my comprehension. I estimate that about two bags of groceries is all that would ever fit back there. As for the front, well, suffice it to say that I think my '68 VW Beetle had more leg and elbow room. Also, I have been driven to distraction by the heater and AC controls. Due to the bizarre placement of the switch, I keep turning on the air conditioning when I want to adjust the heat. It's nine degrees out, and I find myself driving around with the AC on. I will reserve my last comment for the seats. Because there is so little room in the front compartment, the geniuses who designed this thing must have decided to cut out all the padding for the upholstery. I've ridden on plastic bus benches that were more comfortable. After thirty minutes in the camel saddle that passes for the driver's seat I'm ready for the Chiropractor. My final word of advise - particularly is you are taller than about 5'8". Actually drive one of these things for an hour or so before you make a decision to commit to buying one.
