Great body style. Cons: How would you improve 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid?
Brake failures, dealership currently unable to resolve the issue. 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid Review:
Have a 2008 Tahoe Hybrid. The brakes failed the first time causing us to rear-ended another vehicle. It was at low speed and there was no damage so no report was written. We thought it was a one-time thing until we started to drive off and the brakes failed again, sending us over a curb and into a nearby parking lot.
I took it to a dealer in Jacksonville, FL where they looked at it and found nothing wrong. They blamed it on wet roads...although it was not raining when the incident occurred.
A few days later after they found "nothing wrong", I was slowing for a red light and the brakes failed again. I almost hit another vehicle but was able to swerve at the last second...it scared the cr*p out of me. I pulled over, turned the car off and back on again and decided to try and make it home (about 2 miles). As I neared my home, the brakes failed again causing me to take a corner at approximately 40 mph.
Dealer took my vehicle back in and kept it for a few weeks. They replaced every brake part possible. After the repairs, one of the employees drove it home to test it and the brakes failed on him. I think they had my car in for about 3 - 4 weeks total.
So, here I am a month later and the brakes failed AGAIN! This time exiting from the interstate, slowing on an off-ramp...nearly crashing into another vehicle. This is madness. I will have it at the dealership tomorrow.
Oh, and when the brakes failed the last two times, I took pictures of the dash lights and readout for evidence. "Service Stabilitrak" seems to be the recurring theme. My email is Trock55 at hotmail.com if anyone wants to see the pics. |

Interior room, comfort, quiet ride, back up camera.
The gas mileage for this vehicle is much better compared to others its size. Cons: How would you improve 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid?
Find a way to have a spare tire -- not having one concerns me.
I wish the 3rd row seat would lay flat, also.

Awsome on fuel. Ride is better than a Caddy. Very smooth excelleration. Lots of power. Handles well in wind. Good traction on ice & snow(better than my Suburban). Cons: How would you improve 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid?
Tires that come on Hybrid are garbage, replaced because they were useless in snow. Rear bumper fills up with way to much snow, needs to be closed off better. Seats are not very comfortable. No spare tire. No accessories available. Paid for better GM remote start system from dealer, supposed to have better range, save your money. Electric stearing a little stiff when cold. 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid Review:
Owned for 4 months, no problems other than the Bow Tie emblem falling off the fornt grill because of ice. The Hybrid seems a little slugish when new, but power picks up a couple of weeks after driving. Don't be scared about puchasing a Hybrid, the money I save on fuel much outweighs the extra price of a Hybrid Tahoe. |

still fairly roomy Cons: How would you improve 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid?
miliage, 5-6 cylinder turbo diesel, more use of aluminum to reduce weight, real bumpers(that dont scrath all the time AKA chrome) 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid Review:
not worth it major gas guzzler still test drive was enough to turn me off,will the added cost of hybird actually pay? |
