| Pros: What do you like about 2008 Chevrolet Malibu?
I have a 2008 Chevy Malibu, looks great outside. Cons: How would you improve 2008 Chevrolet Malibu?
My ac unit kept leaking water inside. Went to the dealership three times to get that fixed. Had carpet replaced.
Passenger door latch broke.
Driver side back door lock broke.
Battery went out within one yr.
That popping sound also when I turned had that fixed.
Had all this replaced with warranty but now I'm at 41k and I'm scared of what's next. 2008 Chevrolet Malibu Review:
It was a big mistake buying this car, I have tried to get rid of it as a trade off but I owe too much and the car is worth very little compared to what I paid for it. |

The 2008 Chevy Malibu we thought was a good car....this thing is a nightmare. It has been in for brakes three times and changed and turned rotors....GM wouldn't cover this.....just went in again for the fourth time...were told that the rotors overheated and has groves...just ignore the problem.????? I had them changed 7000 miles ago!! AC fan didn't work, steering wheel had to be fixed, door locks broke and wouldn't open. I hate to see what next after warranty is done! |

I like all aspects of the car. It looks and handles great. Cons: How would you improve 2008 Chevrolet Malibu?
The only problem is a knocking sound just before I come to a stop. Dealer will not acknowledge there is a problem saying it is not loud enough. I do not agree because it is very noticeable. |

I like having a lot of room and the trunk space is great. Cons: How would you improve 2008 Chevrolet Malibu?
My Malibu is currently at the dealership because of the brakes. I had it in at 11,000 miles and they told me the rotors need resurfaced so they did it. The problem never really resolved and I took it back at 16,000 miles and they are telling me the rotors need resurfaced again. There is obviously a problem that this keeps needing done. The dealership will not take the time to get down to why this keeps happening and it did no good for me to call Chevrolet customer service, they called the dealership and then called me back and told me what the dealership told them. 2008 Chevrolet Malibu Review:
I would love my Malibu if I didn't have so many problems with the service. If they would have fixed it I would have been happy but they keep putting me off. |

Styling is great. Ride is tight, firm and quiet. Best riding chevy in a long time....a winner. The LTZ model had a very smooth engine and transmission combination....the 6 speed makes all the difference here. Cons: How would you improve 2008 Chevrolet Malibu?
For the money, its hard to find fault. Sure it does not come with Nav, backup camera and park distance (even as options) but at this price, its hardly expected. 2008 Chevrolet Malibu Review:
I had not bought a new GM car in over 20 years after growing up in a GM family and having had less that stellar reliability from any GM products in the 1980's, but this Malibu set a watershed landmark for Chevrolet and for GM. Hope this tranlates across all the product lines. The comparable foreign cars (Camry, Honda etc) now have competition. |
