Do not have stabil track on my LT model would have liked it. 2008 Chevrolet Impala Review:
I bought this auto used and have had it for 6 months and so far no problems. Good gas MPG - about 20MPG. Handles good on highway and in traffic.
I would recommend it to any family that needs a mid range sized car.
The breaking system is better than the Lumina I had before this one. |

The power, but not the front wheel drive. I like the interior, the overall feel of the car. I love the mileage out of the big V8 with active fuel management, 8 cyl or 4 cyl. If you drive conservatively at 70-72 on the interstate you can get over 30MPG. Even around town it averages 22-23MPG over say a couple weeks. Not bad at all for a V8. Cons: How would you improve 2008 Chevrolet Impala?
I have the SS with 305 hp and it is not suited to a front wheel drive. You cannot accelerate hard when you pull out to pass someone. Each front wheel wants to pull in slightly different directions, and that is a hairy feeling as it zigs and zags with you being pushed back in the seat. Not a wife car. MAKE IT REAR WHEEL DRIVE. 2008 Chevrolet Impala Review:

Driveability is great now this is from a 74 year old guy and yes I drove vetts and other hot rods years ago but for a family car this fits the bill. Cons: How would you improve 2008 Chevrolet Impala?

It has great power. I have a LTZ the suspension is great. It comes standard with traction control, abs, and ESC [electronic stability control]. The ESC may be designed to keep you from rolling the car in an accident but it makes high speed tight cornering on the mountain roads awesome. Cons: How would you improve 2008 Chevrolet Impala?

Put it on a platform like the Pontiac G8, But I need all the Impala interior and trunk space. We looked at the camry and thought the steering was too touchy. Other than the steering and weird style, the quality looked good but it would have cost us over 35k. We didn't like the feel or interior space on the Accord. While we were shopping for the car we rented an altima 2.5. Are these experts serious? This car was a dud. We did like the Malibu because it had no wind noise but it didn't have enough trunk space for our bags when we travel, and the interior felt cramped like the Accord, Camry, G8, and Altima. |

Most everything but the radio. It stinks. Unless you purchase the satalite radio which won't you can't pick up anything. Cons: How would you improve 2008 Chevrolet Impala?

Some really stupid comments on this site. The Impala has front wheel drive, not rear. ABS IS standard. Traction control standard on LT models. A perfect car? hardly but for the price we paid, $21,600.00 we could not have purchased a Camry for the same and to our mind, this is a much better car. Cons: How would you improve 2008 Chevrolet Impala?
More cushion in the seats, less wind noise, folding rear seats standard. Much better support from GM HQ. 2008 Chevrolet Impala Review:
Overall, good for the money. We considered Altima, Saturn, Honda and others. Nothing could beat the overall comfort and safety of the Impala for the money. Now we will see how it holds up over time. |

The Impala is a very good car. GM has cheapened it up since my last one (2001).They made ABS Break system a option, & the salsman was stupid enough to tell me GM was going to do away with ABS because they were unsafe. Unreal. |
