2007 Toyota Corolla

Pros: What do you like about 2007 Toyota Corolla?
Good seating position and good visibility all around, particularly after removing back headrests.
Smooth auto transmission, nice downshifts coming to stop.
Easy to service engine compartment but what is to service?
Nice smooth acceleration.
I like door protector strips but are not offered on later Corollas.
Good old fashioned door locks and hand crank windows (CE stock).
Xlnt air conditioner/heater.

Cons: How would you improve 2007 Toyota Corolla?
Adjustable steering wheel position.
Reduce spare key cost, $200 for spare keys for ignition (computer chip inside key) but $1 for door key.
Shorten turning radius, cannot U turn on narrow streets like my old Honda Civic could.
Offer softer suspension, dealer wants $1,600 to change shocks.
Offer rear disc brakes option.
Put bigger knobs on radio.

2007 Toyota Corolla Review:
Bought used 2007 CE automatic with 73,000 miles recently. Very disappointed in the lousy gas mileage: 23mpg city/highway. First two 11 gallon refills over 505 miles makes 23mpg. I drive very slow around city and 55MPH on highways right lanes.
How do you tuneup a computer?
Car rides hard & choppy like Conestoga wagon over plains of Kansas. Dropped tire pressure to 28psi to soften ride a bit.
Seatbelt retractor weak.
Overhead dome lamp switch is flakey.
Horn is weak, must be made for a bicycle.
Lo beams lousy but hi beams xlnt. Cannot turn off headlights during day.

Other than gas mileage.
Feature are similar to other Corollas.

* Terrible gas mileage. I am getting 20 mpg for city and hwy driving.
* Pedal make acceleration jumpy.
* Bought Certified --- Dealer cannot find any problem with car says that gas mileage is Ok. Blames gas or driving. I had a 96 Corrola and even after 14 yrs with a broken O2 sensor, I always got greater than 24 mpg with the same gas and driving. I guess I should have kept this car.

Bought it for the gas mileage and have been sorely disappointed.

Has 69,000 miles on it. It sounds like a John Deere tractor going down the road. Coughs, hacks, backfires, smokes, hesitates, can't drive over 30 mph with the air conditioner on. (It's 104 degrees outside!) They replaced the computer, didn't help, replaced the catalytic converter, didn't help. The rear main seals are leaking and I am having to put oil in it every other day. Everything was covered by their warranty, except the rear main seals, rear main seal warranty ran out at 60,000 miles, and it's going to cost $1400 to fix. I have 2 more years of payments to make on this piece of you know what, and I am afraid to drive it anywhere.

Comfort. I'm 6"4 and very comfortable.

Got my 2007 with 35,562 miles and the remainder of Toyota's Cert. 7 year, 100 thousand mile warranty. Got a steal for $10,629.

I like the gas mileage - get about 35 on the highway. Traded in a Kia Spectra which only got 20.

Door locks don't like to unlock with the key since I had a remote entry security put in.
Would like a tilting steering wheel too.

Overall, I love my car. The dealer got me exactly the color I wanted with 5 speed manual transmission. I plan to drive it till it falls apart!

Good gas mileage, I get 35-34 mpg in the summer and 32-33mpg in winter, Good engine power. I like the car and would purchase it again. matter in fact my wife wants one too.

front seats could be more comfortable - cross winds are noticeable.
