2007 Suzuki XL-7

Pros: What do you like about 2007 Suzuki XL-7?
Drives Nicely, Looks nice as well, and sits high enough off the ground to see well.

Cons: How would you improve 2007 Suzuki XL-7?
Parts Cost WAY too much. One shock is over $650.00 for the 7 passenger vehicle!! And it's not something they, Suzuki Dealers stock. You have to wait. The rear hatch shocks will break and leak, and you have to replace those. Each of those is $120.00 piece, and you can't get them anywhere but Suzuki - too much!!

Now having issues with Vibrations at 55mph - been aligned, spark plugs changed, new tires, and balancing, and still shakes.

Transmission fluid just spilled out everywhere and vehicle will not move forward, only backwards. Vehicle only has 60K on it.

Interior looked nice at first, but then the radio cover area started to come loose, and won't push back in. And the driverside overhead light won't click on any longer. The little plastic piece is broken - cheap parts.

Goes through front brakes too quickly.

Overall, not a bad vehicle - at first, but give it a year or two and it becomes a constant 'fixer-upper'. I even called other Suzuki dealerships throughout the country about certain parts thinking the local dealership was charging to much for parts, and come to find out, it's system wide. Not only that, your local AutoZone, and such places do not carry Suzuki parts!! You have to go to the dealer....hmmmm...

Smooth drive.
Has lots of room.
Very comfortable.
Has heated seats and comes in leather.
Very good looking exterior and interior.

3rd should have a lot more space.
And also the trunk should have space.

Handling is superb for a big SUV.
Bought used and options are good in mine (sunroof, mp3 capable radio).
Nice growl from engine when accelerating.
Very unique styling.

Weird noise every so often from engine or exhaust area.
Not a fan of daytime running lights.
Not too many accessories out there.
Would be 5 across the board if it offered the horsepower of the Mazda CX7.

2007 Suzuki XL-7 Review:
I bought the car used with 47k miles and love it so far. Very unique and I bought the limited model and love the leather and wood trim. I plan on having it for a while since the engine is Japanese and I know mechanics that work on GM products which is a plus for me with this vehicle since it is ALMOST just a unique GM model.

Heater core started leaking at about 70K miles. Reading lots of similar complaints.
Interior trim pieces cracked or are coming off.
Poor visibility in rear.
Window controls really take some getting used to.
No luggage racks available. Seriously?

In the driver's seat, it was pretty good. Up until the heater core started leaking and fogging up the windshield, that is. Or until you have to back up in cluttered terrain.

I bought the car 2.5 years ago, it has 66,000 km on it.

- Battery gets drained quickly.
- A/C fan stopped working several times.
- Back door wasn't working.
- CD is working.
- Guess what is the biggest among all of that : Timing Chain !!!
The timing chain for the XL7 gets stretched and you need USD 1000 to fix it if you buy GM spare parts. I know that you think that I'm a unique case. Do me a favor and google "XL7 Timing Chain Problem".

I like the size of the vehicle, however am disappointed with the 3rd row seat. Third row space is very limited.

I love the stereo and interior of the vehicle.

Do not like the window control locations. I bought the vehicle new in November 2006.

I've already experienced a transmission axle malfunction. It took 7 days to get the part to repair vehicle.

I just replaced the shocks with less than 100,000 miles and highway driving.

The steering wheel makes noise when parking.

Windshield wiper pump malfunctioned at 40,000 miles.

I have a bent rim and can't replace it because my mechanic can't locate it. There are 18 types of rims for the 2007 XL7. It took him two weeks to find the shocks for a seven passenger.

I like the XL7, however a little surprised with the vehicle's issues. It's difficult to locate parts. Never having owned a Suzuki, I bought the vehicle because of Suzuki's past performance and am a little disappointed with the issues I've already experienced with the vehicle.

Have had electrical short since 2007 when bought vehicle.
Steering wheel squeals, has been in twice for that.
Traction control is sometimes overreactive.
3rd row is cramped.

Should check the front train, power steering, and the traction control, always have problems when it snows, I always get stuck in the snow..... Right now I cannot steer at all, I already took it 3 times within a month to get the power steering fixed and it happen again today, and I only picked it up 1 day ago now the power steering is not working again, I am waiting to get in contact with Suzuki to let them know that I cannot steer at all.... I think Suzuki should do a recall on the Suzuki XL 2007 because I have been having a lot of problems lately with my power steering, radio and the remote. They are always malfunctioning..... even though we have a warranty we still had to pay for labor... So far thank god we are safe because the vehicle was so very hard to steer, an accident could have occurred, I do not feel safe driving this vehicle anymore because I do not want to put my 4 children and other family members in any danger because of the past 4 experiences I have had, including the one I had today, thank god we are all ok.

2007 Suzuki XL-7 Review:
Vehicle battery was dead at random times and had to be towed in for this problem 5 times. We ended up trading it off and getting a vehicle we could depend on, we are trying to get some monetary settlement because of all the grief but Suzuki will not deal with us at this point.
