Put in a heater that works in the floor position. In the floor postion more heat is directed at the driver's face than at his feet. It's absurd to have to open the window to get cool air on your face because the defrost is blasting out more air than is going to your feet when the control is set to the floor position. My 96 Outback handles better on snow and ice than the 07. The 96 inspires conidence while the 07 inspires terror. As far as interior design, all the great features of the older outbacks have been eliminated. Cup holders now take up what used to be storage space and when the cupholders are used the containers are in the way. I won't even discuss the cost of key replacement. Good Luck!

2007 Subaru Outback Review:
Subaru quality and design have really deteriorated. I own three Subarus including a 2007 Outback which is a complete disappointment to me. The dealer's chief mechanic assured me that the heater is operating normally. If this is the best Subaru can do, I predict that more and more of it's loyal customers such as me will soon be leaving the fold. The Subaru Outback is not a good choice.

over 22 mpg average for a 175 hp engine w/4wd is great-this is the improvement cheaper and quieter than ever
