PEOPLE GET OVER THE CUP HOLDER BEING INCONVENIENT. THIS IS A 2 SEATED ROADSTER. IF THIS CAR HAD HIT THE STREETS IN 1953 THE CORVETTE WOULD HAVE BEEN JUST ANOTHER NAVAL SHIP. THIS CAR IS AWESOME TO DRIVE AND TURNS HEADS EVERYPLACE YOU GO. KIDS LOVE IT BECAUSE IT IS ONE OF THE TRANSFORMERS. IF YOU GO TO LOOK AT ONE TAKE YOUR CHECKBOOK WITH YOU, I DID AND IT CAME HOME WITH ME. FOR YOU WEENIES THAT CAN'T GET THE TOP DOWN BY YOURSELF MY WIFE PUTS IT UP AND DOWN BY HERSELF AND IS 65 YEARS OLD. SHE LOVES EVERY MINUTE SHE IS DRIVING IT AND SO DO I. |

I have owned several roadsters over the years Vette, Porsche, Miata. My Solstice just makes me SMILE. A pleasure to drive. Mileage at over 30 at 68 mph. Excellent handling. This car should have been marketed to the over 50 crowd who have no need of four doors and Bulbous exteriors. I read people bitching about no trunk space, if you want space buy a Truck. Besides it's AMERICAN and doesn't run on Rice!!! |

It's great fun to drive and a hot looking little car! It's wicked fast and I love the satellite stereo and Onstar is a wonderful feature! Cons: How would you improve 2007 Pontiac Solstice?
Better cup holders and more interior storage would be nice. It also needs some more mechanical reliability as I've had a lot of breakdowns and recalls. 2007 Pontiac Solstice Review:
I love the car but the mechanical unreliability is distressing. It reminds me of a Jaguar XKE V-12 I used to have that was fun but horribly unreliable. I'm hoping that the mechanical problems are a finally resolved. |

The Solstice is what it is. I would never think about owning it as my ONLY car. For me it's a weekend joy ride. I can't imagine driving the car 7 days a week...just as I wouldn't drive a Vet 7 days a week. I can think of no "Improvements" that I would make at this time. But, I would suggest that potential buyers keep in mind the "limited" use of this "concept car" that was brought to market for under $20,000 (originally). 2007 Pontiac Solstice Review:
I've owned 4 Datsun/Nissan Z cars. I'm not talking about the "Altima Z" (i.e., the new 350) but the "original" Z. I still own my(one-owner)'90 Z and it has been a very good car and a blast to drive. I'm still breakng in my '07 GXP and so far it's met all of my expectations. I've found the car to be a pleasure to drive but unlike so many "professional" car critics I drive the car on fairly normal... albeit some twisting country....roads. Maybe I'd have more to criticize if I bought the car to race every weekend but I'm a very normal guy looking for a fun car to drive. With that in mind, the GXP is a "10" for me so far. No one asked but let me tell you, I would NEVER buy a Miata/MX5...if ever there was a "chick car" the Miata is it. (And, for me, any guy who has a problem with the manual (no motor to repair/replace) convertable top is a guy with "chick" tendencies.) |
