Pros: What do you like about 2007 Mercedes-Benz R-Class? Before I purchased this vehicle eveyone was talking about how good the ride is? Well, after owning it for a while now, I can attest the the ride is good, not great, and the shiftable comfort level from "C' (comfort,) to "S" (sport) is no differnce at all. OK, now comes the other bad qualities. Who builds a $78k car and does not have a visible clock for the passenger? Mercedes that's who. Another really bad feature is the "shiftable" transmission is located dorectly behind the sterring wheel. So, if someone with large hands, (a man) grabs or turns the wheel, at times he /she will downshift the transmission into a lower gear. Evenetually, causing damage to the tranamission. The navigation systems have a lot, I mean a hell of a lot to be desired. You get better visibility with the hand helds than you get with this system, along with ease of operations. This system has to be the worst system Mercedes devised. To begin with the colors of the screen are absolutely horrid. Not the normal colors you see on the hand hels units. The input is riciculous to use. Terrible, terrible is the only word to describe this unit. Finally, well not really finally, but the last I will say, is the visibility from the drivers seat to the front of the vehicle. Pulling into a garage, is something of a feat. One would have to be a good judge to make sure one doesn't hit or scrape the sides of the car when pulling in. What Mercedes should have done, where Itried to but to no avail was have the Mercedes Star installed on the hood where the badge is presently. This way, the driver would have a better perspective of the center of the hood, making it a lot easier to guide into a garage or any other confined space. I really could go on and on about the faults on this car, but space and time does not allow me. My suggestion to anyone thinking about purchasing this vehicle, is try getting a loaner or rental from the Mercedes Dealer, before making this committment. I surely did not Cons: How would you improve 2007 Mercedes-Benz R-Class? Sorry, I got my Pro's and Con's mixed up: But the Pro's to owning this vehicle are far and few in between, I ahve been a Mercedes Benz owner mostly all of my successful adult life. I needed a vehicle that was roomy enough to carry my two Dobermans, and yet have the quality that I grew to accept with Mercedes Benz, Gas Mileage Is an acceptable "Good" especially for a large, heavy vehicle. Room is abound in the cabin. Back seat passengers have no complaints, no matter how large one is. Drive and comfort are above normal. Fit & Finish. are Mercedes Typical. What can one say but to get out and enjoy the car. 2007 Mercedes-Benz R-Class Review: In contrast. It is a good car worthy of the Mercedes badge. |
