I have owned my MKX for 3 months and it has been in the dealers shop half that time (36 days and counting this latest time) The transmission slips on upshift. The tech states he has diagnosed the problem as a defective solenoid pack and has ordered a replacement 3 times, but received the wrong replacement part each time which is very odd since the MKX only offers 1 transmission choice. Do yourself a huge favor and stay away from this POS. |

The gas mileage is terrible I'm getting 15.3 in town . Don't go by what the computer on the dash shows. Fill up your tank write down your mileage then when you fill up again then subtract the differnce and divide by how many gallons you had to fill up with. To me, the computer is set to make you feel like you are getting more miles per gal. and you sure can't go by the computer on avg. miles per gallon. You will never see those #'s I have almost 5000 miles on mine . I am so sorry I bought this gas guzzler. A v-6 should get better than that. |

I love my new MKX!I could not decide between the X3 or the RX350. I chose the MKX because of the overall design, the larger cabin and the price. I felt that the RX350 is everywhere you look and I wanted something with newness as well as comfort and luxury. So far I love it and can't wait to go on along trip with it. The X3 felt very cramped all over. The best feature is the vista roof, cool seats and reclining back seats. The recling back seat give passengers much more comfort and space. I wish I got the THX and navigation but could not swing it this time around.
The only thing I would change if could would be to have a more updated interior. More wood instead of nickle. |

Panorama roof option, quiet at speed with little to no wind noise, nice sound system, good handling, very spacious rear seats, nice auto opening rear hatch & push-button fold down seats in rear. All controls (radio, mirrors, hood release) are where they're supposed to be. I love the egg-crate grill that pays homage to the 62-65 Continental. Cons: How would you improve 2007 Lincoln MKX?
Doors feel cheap, hollow, tinny when shut. Inner door panel flexes when pulling door shut. Fortify & insulate inner door panels better to achieve a solid, "Ka-chunk" sound. Use real aluminum interior trim, please! Engine slightly thrashy getting up to speed. Pistons under hood; prop rod is "cheap" on a $40K vehicle. Try to increase roomy feeling in front seats; feels cramped. There is room to spare for an additional inch or two of front seat travel to spare... 2007 Lincoln MKX Review:
A very nice SUV as SUV's go. I don't know if it's a Lexus RX-beater, but it's in the ballpark. |

The only thing I would ask for is something no car offers, and that's more head room so that I could get a moonroof for once. I'm 6'4" and the moonroof takes too much headroom away, just like in every other vehicle I've driven. 2007 Lincoln MKX Review:

The leg and head room are ample conpared tp to others of the same class.
The 18-inch wheels let you feel you are high up as in an SUV. The vista roof one added feature you can not do without. Cons: How would you improve 2007 Lincoln MKX?
The steerwheel needs to be powered not the latch and pull to postion. I was disappointed in the console space. It also needs a holder for a cell phone or MP3 player to make things hands-free. There also needs to be hand rails overhead on the passagers side to help get in and out. Last but not least, adjustable pedals. 2007 Lincoln MKX Review:
The MKX is a wonderful car. I have always been a lincoln fan. The car drives very smooth on the highway and is ever so quiet in the cabin. The sound system is awesome. The backseat legroom is ample for growing boys. I am very happy with mine and expect to own the car for awhile. |

I just purchased a black on black MKX and I love it. I had looked into a BMW X5 as well as a Lexus GX and I couldn't be happier with my decision. This vehicle is so smooth to drive, and I was able to get it fully loaded for the base price of the other two vehicles. If you are thinking of purchasing a MKX, I would say to go for it.
