2007 Lexus RX 400h

Pros: What do you like about 2006 Lexus RX 400h?
Fast, smooth ride, great acceleration when needed, good gas mileage.
Very comfortable seating and overall interior layout.

Cons: How would you improve 2006 Lexus RX 400h?
NAV system is out of date by now and WAY too costly to update - should be free, for what we paid for the car. Cannot change destination while driving, cannot do some other things on NAV system while driving.

Interior needs more storage for driver position. I hate saying this, but it needs more cup holders too.

2006 Lexus RX 400h Review:
Bought ours used in 2009. Was in great shape when we got it, but the dealer put crappy tires on it that are now causing us problems. Should have done more research. We really like driving it on trips and overall would recommend this car highly.

NAV system upgrade need and cost are major problems that take away some of our positive feelings toward the car.

The mileage is a little worse than anticipated, but still better than the gas Highlander that we enjoyed for years. Highway mileage is comparable while city driving is 25% better in the hybrid. I did expect a larger delta in city. More 12V outlets would be good as we all have too many e-gismos. I agree with other reviews that it needs a coin holder.

2006 Lexus RX 400h Review:
A low mileage used Lexus is definitely the way to go. The car performs like a new car without the first years steep depreciation and taxes. I will do this again.

Love the car, dislike the xm radio. I took the car in because I thought the radio should be fixed (sound level not in sync with FM/AM stations; static when start-up) and was told, sorry that is the way the radio works, since it is a add-on. Well, it would have been nice if I had been told of the issues before I purchased the xm. I'm not happy at all. This is my second Lexus and I expected a better response.

Handling and acceleration very good. Outstanding air conditioneer. Very fast heated seats. Fun car with nice driving visibility. Auto windshield wipers and the gps now includes Canada. Radio better than in my SC 430.

Needs noise deadening. Transmission buzzes upon acceleration (too much noise)

2006 Lexus RX 400h Review:
Mileage after 6000 miles is about 24.5 overall. Less than I would have liked. Fab sound system and GPS. Handles much quicker and rides better than my old RX 300. Transmission a little too noisy upon hard acceleration. Would like more soundproofing overall. Still an excellent car.

Wood on steering wheel or nonslip leather. Elliminate blind spots from large posts.

2006 Lexus RX 400h Review:
This vehicle is better than my previous 2004 LX 470 in the following ways. It is more powerful, faster, more surefooted and stable in handling & driveability. The lack of transmission noise from constant downshifting makes for a very quiet ride. The seats are almost as comfortable than the LX 470 but the 400h steering wheel cover is very slippery, I would like to see an upgrade 'wood' like in the 470.

More accurate and honest reporting of expected mpg in the RX 400h.

2006 Lexus RX 400h Review:
I'm averaging 20 mpg for city driving, NOT the 31 mpg advertised by Lexus. I'm very disappointed in the fuel economy. The car is great to drive and has the Lexus luxury feel, but for $10,000 less I could have the same qualities with an RX330.
