| Pros: What do you like about 2007 Kia Sorento?
1) The 2nd owner warranty, 6 yrs, 60,000 miles.
2) Good Gas mileage, 26 miles per gallon Highway, driver, no passengers or gear.
3) 4X4.
4) Quite ride.
5) Looks sharp.
6) Ample cargo space.
7) Towing capacity. Cons: How would you improve 2007 Kia Sorento?
1) Less all around room inside than my 2003 Escape, Low head room, I'm 6' and hit my head getting in on a regular basis.
2) Vehicle hesitates when accelerating from stopped position.
3) On several occasions while maintaining speed or climbing hills the Tachometer jumps up & down and the ride becomes extremely bumpy (jumpy) with a lot of hesitation and a feeling of lost power. This happens even on newly paved roads. It feels like its going to stall but never does. On a recent trip to NC I had to get off the interstate and take local roads home because the hesitation and shaking was so violent. I have experienced this several times since I purchase the Sorento in March of 09 with 16,000 miles on it. After 3 trips to the dealer (2 overnights) they continue to say they find nothing wrong.
4) Vehicle occasionally lunges when coming to a stop.
5) Head lights and Dash indicator lights often get very dim. Dealer tells me its normal for all KIA's. Head lights nearly going out? Normal? 2007 Kia Sorento Review:
Really don't know what else to add. I have 22,200 miles on it now. When the 07 Sorento is functioning normally, it's a beautiful ride but it's a gamble every time I take it for a drive.
I wanted this SUV to pick my Kids up during College breaks in another State and for trips down to the coast. The unpredictability of this SUV makes that a risky proposition. It's basically a stay close to home SUV for me.
I took it to a different service shop and they tested the vehicle and told me the alternator is not functioning properly and this is causing the head lights to dim and possibly causing the loss of power while driving. Kia says that everything is functioning perfectly!
So, do I spend nearly a Grand and have the Alternator replaced by an independent shop or keep bring the Sorento back to the dealer and hope someday they return the Sorento in good working condition? |

Stand by your vehicles & own up to the Warranty and fix them when they don't perform. Don't make idiotic excuses like, "It's normal for the headlights to dim while driving at night" and "when the vehicle loses power and hesitates, just down shift". 2007 Kia Sorento Review:
A follow up to my October review. The frequency and intensity of the problems with my Sorento continued to get worse. My local Kia Dealership refused to recognize the problems with my vehicle even though every person who drove or rode in it with me experienced these problems. I had no choice but to trade it in. I've never been so disappointed with a vehicle or the service in my life. Paid $13,995.00 and Lost approximately $2000.00 at trade in after only 8 months of ownership. Even with the loss, it's a relief to be rid of that 2007 Kia Sorento. |

I am very pleased with my pruchase of the Sorento. I have about 2,000 miles on it and find the SUV a real pleasure to own and drive. Had several other name brand SUV's but this one is the best in overall design and quality. I recommend it and would by one again. |
