Like the size and shape.
Heated seats.
Gas mileage. Cons: How would you improve 2007 Jeep Patriot?
Higher windshield visibility.
Better placement of cup holders.
Lock on glove box.
The seals need improvement. I have experienced water leaking into the car on 3 different occasions. Twice after a hard, driving rainstorm. Water was in the back cargo area and another time in the carpet of the front passenger area. Just today went to do errands and water started pouring in through the front dome light. It ran into my CD player, radio and shifter! Snow was melting on top of the sunroof and found it's way into the car!! Taking it in for inspection ASAP. 2007 Jeep Patriot Review:

I have had this Jeep for just one month and am very pleased.
I've added Yokohoma Geolander AT-S tires 225/70-16. Very good in mud and snow. For a bit more power I've added an HPC performance chip and a K&N air filter, noticeable difference. Am still tweaking the chip for performance and mileage.
Other noteworthy impressions; best and quickest warm-up heater I've ever had, best window washer spray, really comfortable seats and huge leg room front and back . The off road FD2 system does work well. I am sure this Jeep will go anywhere my Toyota FJ Cruiser would at a lot less cost. Cons: How would you improve 2007 Jeep Patriot?

Mechanical problems have sapped all the pleasure of ownership, front light harness overheated, at 46,000 miles lower front right ball joint needed replacement, emission control sensor needed replacement vehicle was not drivable, now as of 7/23 an intake manifold control valve needs replacement. I am a lifelong Jeep owner, had a 1995 Cherokee for 375,000 miles, this vehicle I cannot recommend, also dealer uncooperative. |

I have only owned my 2007 Jeep patriot for about a month but I am impressed with the rear leg room and leather seats (Limited). It has plenty of power and has a smooth ride. Tonnes of safety features as well. Nice tight turn radius also. Cons: How would you improve 2007 Jeep Patriot?
There is a bit of engine and road noise but nothing too bad. One complaint I do have though is the rearview visibility, it is very difficult to backup and you really need to use your mirrors carefully. 2007 Jeep Patriot Review:

I live in Toronto, Canada and have the 4x4 North Edition since Aug. 2007 and 25,000km on the clock. I have not had one speck of trouble with it. The Goodyear All-Terrain tires are very grippy in all conditions, even slush and snow! It gets very good gas mileage too. The vehicle is screwed together very good. No rattles or squeaks, even on the worst of roads. By the way I take it OFF-ROAD too! Cons: How would you improve 2007 Jeep Patriot?
Improvements: Add a 120 volt A/C outlet and a 12 volt outlet in the cargo area.
Make "heated" mirrors standard, or at least an option. 2007 Jeep Patriot Review:
After 18 months of driving my Patriot in all weather conditions I find it a very capable vehicle and has surpassed my expectations for an SUV. The body-roll is almost non-existent when pushing it around corners. It feels very safe and secure. I would reccommed it to any one. |

In comparison with my previous Cherokee, I miss the low range transmission but with the locking 4 wheel drive and low gear ratio provided I feel comfortable in rough back roads conditions. Also, the Patriot is by comparison underpowered but this is good tradeoff for the bad features of the Cherokee ( road noise, rough ride and mechanical defects).Only time will tell if mechanically this car will stand up to the type of driving it is exposed to. The Cherokee repair expenses were bothersome and expensive. |

the CVT sounds too much like a slipping clutch. cup-holders up front are a little hard to reach with the armrest slid forward. the "B" piller blocks over the shoulder view a little. 2007 Jeep Patriot Review:

Great outdoor/off road vehicle when properly equipped. Reasonably priced although the options packages are confusing. I drove it on washboard mountain roads with nary a complaint. Best for rough roads with the necessary equipment package. Don't bother to buy if you plan on only driving to the mall. |

Bought the Jeep over 3 months ago and it had been in the shop 3x already. 2007 Jeep Patriot Review:
The first 3,000 miles was good, but ever since then, the Patriot had so many problems ( gear shift won't release from park; engine and BAS lights came on; A/C not working, DRL recalled). The service people claimed that a rock went through the front grill and hit the condenser causing failure to the A/C. Sound fishy!!!. |

Some might complain about the engine noise. It really isn't that bad. It's just because it's the CVT type. The Patriot provides a smooth ride driving through the urban jungle. Haven't really tried off-roading yet. The best I'll do with it off road though is going "muddin'"; nothing serious. If I were to do real off-roading I'm better off with the other Jeeps. But I had this in mind when I purchased this especially at the price. Overall I really like this vehicle. I sure noticed a few head turns to see what I was driving when I was driving, that's cool.... |

Good for family, commuting, and still some what rugged. The gas mileage is a big plus! Cons: How would you improve 2007 Jeep Patriot?
Better aceleration would come in handy! Also the 13.5 gal gas tank is terrible. I commute 170 miles each day and will be filling up the tank every other day! The warranty is pretty lame, as I hope to get some good miles on this without any trouble! 2007 Jeep Patriot Review:

Once you get used to the trans, you don't even pay attention. Truck owner for many years. Hauls a small trailer for moving light loads or occasional trip to the home center. If your looking for a heavy hauler or stronger engine go bigger. Like the style, mileage, and handling. Takes mountains with ease, and still has power. Cons: How would you improve 2007 Jeep Patriot?
As a standard a Locking shift or push down to change gear on automatic, (can shift out of gear if hit accidentally). A locking glove compartment would be nice for valet parking. As a non necessary item, I would like to see changeable half doors for the Patriot. an open back cargo area with a fold back roof. This would be nice for carrying a gas can back home for the mower without smelling up the interior 2007 Jeep Patriot Review:
Nice vehicle for the money. I wanted a full back seat, good mileage and 4x4. Nothing else in this price range with those features in the market. I priced others with the features I wanted and was over 24,000 on the low end. Plus the Patiot is equipped with all the safety I didn't plan on. Features like Antilock Brake System (ABS), Electronic Stability Program (ESP) with Brake Assist, Electronic Roll Mitigation, Front Seat
Belts with Seat Pretensioners and Load Limiters, and side air bags are all standard. |
