| Pros: What do you like about 2007 Honda Civic Hybrid?
Great handling car, tight turning radius, a joy to drive. Understand Honda does not load the smaller cars with standard options as other manufacturers, but would like an upgraded upholstery and perhaps a better seat cushion for the front seats with a more adjustable headrest. Cons: How would you improve 2007 Honda Civic Hybrid?
Would love a more neutral interior. Mine is navy and it shows every piece of lint and every dog hair from my JRT. There is a blind spot that is hard to deal with that comes from the wide windshield on the driver's side, but it is tolerable once identified. And it can be difficult to judge backing up as the window is at a upward angle and you don't see the trunk lid at all, let alone if you are trying to back into a dark garage. Auto on sensor lights would be great, too.
I would like the engine to use electricity more in town as a way to be more environmentally friendly. 2007 Honda Civic Hybrid Review:
Love the car itself. Had to put new tires on it at just below 25K miles. Had to read up on LOW ROLLING RESISTANCE TIRES to understand difference. Factory tires were Dunlops so went with those again after trying Michelins for a tankful of gas when overall mileage dropped 25% from 45+ to below 39 mpg. Thought it was the tires gripping the road too much after the Dunlops but cannot say for sure as now Dunlops are on it and mileage has not improved. I hate to think the engine has problems or maybe the computer that controls everything is malfunctioning after 25K miles. |

Gas mileage of course! I love my hybrid! I've owned it for 2 years and now have over 65,000 miles! I normally average 530 miles on a full tank about 11 gallons. The summer months it's about 450 because Las Vegas is too hot and the car doesn't auto stop when the temperature is above 106! I have done a lot of research learning how to drive the car to maximize the mpgs. I also like the look of the car inside and out! The navigate is fantastic and the XM Radio and iPod adapter are prefect. Cons: How would you improve 2007 Honda Civic Hybrid?
I would change a few minor things on the car.
The rear seats should fold down. Add solar panels for powering the AC etc.
Adding a sun roof.
Maybe making a sport package with an arrow dynamic roof rack! Or coming out with a hybrid civic hatchback for more space. I have an active life style and would love to be able to travel with a bike or snowboards and hatch back and rear folding seats would be prefect. 2007 Honda Civic Hybrid Review:

Obviously the mpg’s, “perceived” Honda quality, interior feels roomy (except trunk) Speedometer up top so easy to see without taking eyes off road & it’s digital. Cons: How would you improve 2007 Honda Civic Hybrid?
Honda service bulletin 08-001 issued should have been a recall, causes rear tires to wear out, the entire car to rattle excessively between 65 & 80 mph’s and tires can explode on highway (MAJOR SAFETY VIOLATION). Honda doesn’t want to replace tires, at 33,xxx miles I feel like I’ve been the shop WAY too much & had to pay WAY too much for things while car is under warranty – worried about long term reliability now, will unfortunately probably sell the car. Wouldn’t recommend purchase.

I like the overall exterior look. The engine has quick pick up power. Cons: How would you improve 2007 Honda Civic Hybrid?
Put a multiple disc cd player...add better suspension. we feel every little bump in the road..use better tires...at 3000..a front tire seperated..dealer claims that I had hit a curb...and thats so not correct.. I was told that this Honda uses "special tires"...that the dealer wanted over $165 for one..i refused their tire and went down the street to another reputable tire dealer..and i had that tire replaced for $110...same brand of tire the dealer wanted to sell me..and tell the truth about the actual milage you will get..its not 41/51 as advertised...its 30/34.2 ...I drive this car on long trips..and using cruise control..doing 65..34.2 is the best Ive ever got. I purchsed a bra for this car the day I picked it up from the dealer...at a hefty price..they installed it for me..and to this day..it wont stay attatched. So possibly make the way it attatches different. At 7000 miles...the car is at the dealership with a transmission problem. after going up a series of 3 steep hills..i barely made it up the fourth..after i did..i got out and something was very hot..smelled like hot brakes or a slipping clutch...the dealer claims they think this is the main battery getting hot...seems at low rpm and going up hill..the battery does not charge.. they have had the car for two days..and cant recreate the problem.... they claim... this problem has no fix. ( because they dont know what it is ) . American Honda main office claims...they have no problems reported about this year hybrid...but..i think the gentleman i spoke too...his job is to smooth irritated customers...but with me..that didnt work!..when this problem is finally resolved...i will post again and let you know what they found...and what they did to resolve it. 2007 Honda Civic Hybrid Review:

Before buying a hybrid..read all you can on line about the different problems other hybrid customers have encountered. This is new technology..so there is going to be bugs to work out. |

The paint chips like I've never seen before. Had sensor put in after 6000 miles, took a number of days, but was lucky to find a dealer in Allentown that made the best sense, and did a great job. Mileage fluctuates with each gas refill. lowest was 30mpg and greatest was 49mpg driving Route 8 in Cali and Arizona. Cons: How would you improve 2007 Honda Civic Hybrid?
put diesel engine with hybrid. put door strip on side, make paint job better and better to handle elements and chips from road dirt. 2007 Honda Civic Hybrid Review:

Road noise, driver's side door latch is sticking, consistently smooth transition from Auto Stop to forward (bumps sometimes), fold down rear seats to expand storage, allow trailer hitch installation for bike rack. 2007 Honda Civic Hybrid Review:
I sold my 4Runner in late '07 when my 90 mile round trip commute started eating me alive. This vehicle has cut my fuel costs in half and it is fun to drive. I can fit my family of four in the vehicle easily. Not sure how the battery life will factor in to operation costs yet. |

Chronic problems with the IMA "check engine light". The car is a 2008 and is only six months old. 2007 Honda Civic Hybrid Review:
Dealer cannot solve IMA check engine light problem. Even replaced the $4,500 battery pack and this is still a problem. Honda in Torrance is dragging their heels in terms of solving the problem now. Really disappointed in Honda Corp. Lesson learned about Honda! |

Should not hurt your ears when driving with windows down. NEEDS BETTER GAS MILAGE!!! (35) Can't clean inside drivers window. Seats hurt my lower back. Head rest too far forward. I love this car. I was getting around 47mpg in town but due to engine trouble the computer was adjusted so that it ran more on gas. This resulted in a 10 mpg decrease. Disappointed in that. Used to get an average of 470+ miles per tank full. Now it is barely 400. But it is better than what I was driving which was a Jeep. You still can't beat the gas mileage but it wasn't what I was getting the first 6 months. Cons: How would you improve 2007 Honda Civic Hybrid?
Please state the correct mpg on the sticker. Isn't the mpg the same as the regular Honda?? 2007 Honda Civic Hybrid Review:
Yes, I will sell this in a year but I will be buying another Honda Hybrid because I like the way they handle on the road. It is comfortable to drive long distance in. Easy to park. Drives just like a regular car. From a stop, you can't tell the differnce. I found a lot of people who thought that it doesn't have any power but I can't tell the difference. It really is a great car. |
