I have a 2008. Retro styling, power, seats,

I have changed the axle back exhaust with a ford racing exhaust same as on the KR. I also added the 3.73 gears and the cold air intake. This was copied after the current KR.The change in the car is dramatic adding 4o H.P. to the current 500.0-60 times in low 4's 2007 Ford Shelby GT 500 Review:

Not a bad car, difficult to drive on road course with live axle. Comfortable but a little cheap for price.
Giving that this car is around $10k more than the stock GT, there should be more included that a truck engine on steroids. This car should realy stand out in looks as well as performance and not just HP performance, but handling as well. |

I waited and bought a used 2008 with a couple thousands miles w/out the crazy price. I've owed several great cars a 2001 911 turbo, 2005 Audi S4. This GT 500 convt is the most fun to drive. I look forward to driving it everyday. Good power, brakes, etc. Buy the convertible. Cons: How would you improve 2007 Ford Shelby GT 500?

I would like to see the rear about 2" lower and a better sounding exhaust like the older 5.0's. Also it should come with a better rear traction ar system to cut domn on wheel hop. |

The power of my 2008 GT 500 CV clearly trumps my 2007 Corvette CV dispite what any Road and Track article (etc) has to say. I still own both. The Ford gives much more comparable feeling of the 60's 400+ hp cars which I grew up experiencing frequently from all the major manufacturers and a few foreign builders such as the Jaguar SKE. The car is great if you drive it on a perfect day avoiding rains going through the hood to the motor. No designed drain off was very poor engineering. There are ways and if enough interest I am about to patent a cure that will not interfere with the passing of hot air from the engine compartment yet keep the engine unexposed to the elements.
