VERY dependable motor. '07-up 4.2 is known to outlast the v8 line. Creature comforts are pretty decent, even in the bare bones fleet models. A/C cools the cab off quick. Run it long enough and the cab will become an icebox. Heater warms up to scalding hot within 10 minutes. As a big surprise, interior and road noise is kept to a minimum. Ford did their homework on this truck. In this class it gives imports and the other big 2 a run for the money. For a pickup, the standard suspension is surprisingly smooth as well and not so 'trucky'. Adding more factory creature comforts is a breeze as the platform is shared with the rest of the line. They are pretty much "lego" trucks and almost anything from higher end models can be swapped in. Cons: How would you improve 2007 Ford F-150?
The V6 is an underpowered engine for the stature of this truck. It also gets terrible gas mileage. My research has shown the v8 5.4 gets the best as the grunt of the motor gets the vehicle up and going easier. The v6 pretty much struggles. If a performance company made a supercharger for the v6 it would be game over and few would have a need for the v8 line. Ive also found when in need of quick shifting, the truck tends to not go into gear with out re-trying (manual trans). 2007 Ford F-150 Review:
All in all, a great A to B vehicle that gets most jobs done. The 2wd versions are worthless off road as they don't feature a limited slip differential. I personally got stuck in wet grass before over this. |

Extremely smooth transmission, great ride, tons of room. I have a stripped down F150 XL Supercab 2WD. Love it. 6.5' bed is great, deep too. Cons: How would you improve 2007 Ford F-150?

I only have 3,000 miles; I've had a Z71, Ram, and Tundra - so far it is the smoothest ride. Haven't had a chance to really evaluate the mileage. So are so good. |

2004 F150 motor blew up at only 73,500 miles. Dealer states problem is known by Ford and is Spark Knock Ignition swirl which destroyed cyliinder wall. What a JOKE! |

Don't know about the 2007 model , but i own a 2005 STX and the biggest complaint is the fact that it is hard to find the key slot in the door when in a dark area and also the ignition switch, a lighted area around the door slot would be a big improvement . Great ride and good comfort for a truck |
