Handles good in the winter. Cons: How would you improve 2007 Chevrolet Equinox?
The overall mechanical make of this vehicle needs to be rebuilt. For the cost of this vehicle, I don't feel that I have gotten my money's worth. 2007 Chevrolet Equinox Review:
Battery keeps going dead, visor mirror covers fell off, headlights burnt out the first year, breaks never stop squealing, 3rd windshield has been installed due to breakage, fuses keep blowing. Very unsatisfied with this vehicle. This is the only vehicle I own and am a single mother. I can't keep taking it to the shop. Within the first 6 months of ownership, I had it in the shop at least 7 times. |

My battery has died three times in four weeks. I would never recommend this vehicle to anyone. I have spent more money into getting this SUV fixed then I have in any other much older vehicle that I have had. I am constantly having to walk back and forth to work, about three miles each way, because the batteries keep going. 2007 Chevrolet Equinox Review:

The inside of the doors could be improved. My husband got his 3 middle fingers caught in the drivers door . Results was his fingers got smashed and all 3 fingers had broken bones with his middle finger being so severe that the had to remove 1/2 of that finger. Notice with the ridge in the inter door not very much room.
A lot of bind spots out the windows when driving. 2007 Chevrolet Equinox Review:

The windshield breaks so easy, this will be the 4th windshield I have got for this car.
Power window control in the middle should be moved.

BETTER INTERIOR RUG WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE. THIS IS WHAT HAS HAD TO BE REPLACED UNDER MY FACTORY WARRANTY: BOTH VISORS, PASSENGER HEADLIGHT, AND A DISCOLORING LUGGAGE RAIL. WHICH IS NOT BAD SINCE THEY ARE SMALL ITEMS.

Mine has been a total lemon. Here is a list of repairs to date (less than 20k miles - purchased new in May of 2007) traction control, ignition, brakes, alarm system, passenger airbag (TWICE), both headlights burned out, tire air pressure sensor bad. Cosmetic issues have been: exterior chrome trim bubbled up, rear cup holder fell off, visor mirror cover fell off, rear hatch gasket falling off. 2007 Chevrolet Equinox Review:
Very unsatisfied - working with Chevrolet to get rid of car. Would never recommend this car to anyone. |

I love the sliding rear seat. The leg room for front and rear is really great. I love the sound system and the fact I can plug my iPod directly into the sound system. I am happy with the cars overall power for a vehicle its siz. Cons: How would you improve 2007 Chevrolet Equinox?

Overall is acceptable vehicle. Gas mileage is terrible though. Is also somewhat prone to road noise. May be tire design. Handles well and engine transmission seem to work very well together. Shifts very smooth. Not a big fan of electric steering but am getting used to the feel. |

Its a great size and has a very comfortable interior... Cons: How would you improve 2007 Chevrolet Equinox?
Where would I start? Fix the rotor issue... I have replaced them several times with only 30K miles. The plastic features, such as the vanity mirror, piece that holds the antenna, is made from a cheaper grade of plastic and should be redone in a stronger resin. (Broke both within a year through normal wear and tear). Also, it would be nice to have opening rear window... I hate having to open the door to just to drop something inside. 2007 Chevrolet Equinox Review:
I bought my Equinox and loved it for about 6 months. Unfortunately, right now, its in for its 4th warranty repair in 2 years - and its the third time its been brake related. That worries me!! |
