Make driver's door panel same as passenger's (controls too far away with current design).
CD nav system not as good as DVD.
Put power seat controls on door panel (like M-B). 2006 Volkswagen Phaeton Review:
Best value on the market. Overall, quality equals or exceeds Lexus LS, BMW 7, M-B S (I've owned all 3). Dealer service has been excellent, too.
Great road car --- as good as it gets. |

Best car by far that I have ever had.
I enjoy the car every day.

Improve the navigation system.
Cup holders too shallow.
Tire pressure monitoring system is a bit irritating at times. |

Incredible stereo sound.
Heated and air conditioned, massaging seats.

Re-introduce it to North America.
Update the CD based navigation system, offer more integration of I-pods, bluetooth, etc. 2006 Volkswagen Phaeton Review:
A no holds barred, no skimping design and manufacture. Meets or excels at fit and finish to any flashy label European, American or Asian car. They then graced it with a "people's car" badge on the front and back....perfect! This is the perfect car for those who don't need to show a label, but would rather drive an incredible car unpretentiously. It's also great to catch the stares of those who recognize that it's not a 12 cylinder Passat on steroids. |

Everything. Not a problem one in 2 years. I was just rear-ended and the vehicle held up great - waiting for the vehicle to be repaired by VW. So far all have treated me great. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Volkswagen Phaeton?
Blue tooth and phone capabilities. other than that its the best car on the road. 2006 Volkswagen Phaeton Review:
Not much else to say about the best car on the road. I hope VW comes out with the hardtop convertible Phaeton. Would love to have a four door version. |

Add Bluetooth connectivity, DVD navigation, and try to reduce weight. More torque in V8 would be welcome. 2006 Volkswagen Phaeton Review:
I have a 2005 Phaeton and no significant changes were made for 2006. The car is virtually unknown but offers a level of build quality equivalent to a Bentley (both cars share many components and some Bentley Flying Spurs are built on the same assembly line as the Phaeton). It is heavy and thirsty, but has a vault like feeling of strength. The V8 provides adequate power but with 5,200 lbs to pull, is no dragster. On the hiighway this car excels, maintaining triple digit cruise effortlessly and quietly. A 300 mile drive is a pleasure and I can drive all day without feeling tired. Handling is quite good considering the weight, but could hardly be considered nimble. However this car is meant for luxury cruising and to that end it excels. Seats are comfortable, plenty of space in back, great air conditioning, smooth ride, great sound system, navigation, CD changer, soft close doors; nice package! Pity VW stopped importing this car, I would have got another when my lease is up! |

I have never owned a more luxurious vehicle. It has every option you could possibbly ask for in an up scale auto. The ride is as quite as any Cadilac, Mercedes, or BMW we have owned over the years. This is truley the auto buy of the decade. |

| 2006 Volkswagen Phaeton Review:
I happened upon this vehicle by chance and am very happy for the outcome. I am very impressed by the engine muscle, interior comfort and subdued exterior design - not in to the 'prestige vehicle' badges. The car wants to go at speeds more compatible with its design. I have a hard time keeping it under 80 mph. Indeed, in one instance I was pressed to accelerate only briefly and quickly reached 120 mph. Its fuel economy is not good, with average city driving yielding about 16.5 - 17.0 mpg. I always look for excuses to drive this car - a wonderful feeling. I also look forward to my first road trip - should be fantastic! |

Change the navigation system to make it DVD based, upgrade the CD changer to play MP3 files and provide Aux inputs for iPod, etc. That's, it everything else is perfect. 2006 Volkswagen Phaeton Review:
I owned every luxury German car brand there is, plus some great Asian cars. This is the best bar none. The importer did a poor job of promoting the car and nobody know how good it is. VW has treaded the Phaeton a bit better in Europe, but their problems in the USA have caused it to be cancelled. They really hosed the owners, but this car is hard to belive. Its build quality is utterly fanstastic. It drives great, quiet and smooth with great handling, ride and acoustics. What a sound system. |

The Phaeton is a very no nonsense luxury vehicle. It has all the appointments of its competitors, but has the practicality of a VW. The uniqueness of the big VW has many on lookers, wondering if this is a Jetta on steriods. The interior appointments are first rate with the exceptions of a couple of cheap buttons. The heated and cooled seats are very comfortable. The exterior shape is very clean, simple, and attractive. The interior cabin shuts out most unwanted noise and the upgraded sterio is unbelievable. The VW network is very proud of this vehicle and is very helpful when servicing the vehicle. |
