Strong engine (turbo 4).
Good handling, build confidence on high speed.
More comfortable suspension and better break feel than Honda Accord.
Very nice fit/finish.
Love the look even after 3 yrs. plus good gas mileage. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Volkswagen Passat?
Engine lights on x3 times/3yrs (reasons: gas cap,oxygen sensor).
Premium gas.
$$ oil change.
Defected radio even on delivery.
Worry higher maintenance later years $$$.

Basically, the only good thing about this car in my opinion is the way it looks. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Volkswagen Passat?
I have had nothing but problems with my Passat since I bought it brand new in 2006. My AC has quit working numerous times, and still doesn't work after getting a new AC compressor put in. In fact, it's in the shop right now getting "repaired." The check engine light actually comes on and off occasionally, and they have never been able to fix that or find out why it does that. Other things that have gone wrong: air bags quit working, horn stopped working as well...the biggest issue by far has been the AC. I guess I am doomed to ride around with the windows down in 100 degree weather for the next few years...or at least until I can sell it. 2006 Volkswagen Passat Review:

Roomy trunk Cons: How would you improve 2006 Volkswagen Passat?
I have 47K miles and have gone through SIX tires - I run winter treads for 5 month per year, so the SIX tires that have been replaced have had only 10-15K miles on them - Does this sound right??? Front end does not stay aligned - and I don't drive through tons of potholes or on many dirt roads.
Burns oil - 1-2 quarts between changes. 2006 Volkswagen Passat Review:
I'm not real thrilled with it - even though it's been mechanically reliable for 3 years - I just don't want to replace the tires every year! I would NOT buy another one. |

Dependability,handling and fun to drive and comfortable. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Volkswagen Passat?
Need more leg room in the back seat area. Vents do not turn enough to vent driver and back seat passengers. It doesn't get as cool quick enough. My Honda Accord had better ventilation and air-conditioning and heating than my VW. 2006 Volkswagen Passat Review:

When it is running, it drives eautifully. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Volkswagen Passat?
MANY defects...recalled items, etc. AC broke after 10 months. CD player broke twice in 8 months, and drained the battery, which had to be replaced. Many electrical defects--windows do not always roll up, etc. 2006 Volkswagen Passat Review:
Way too many problems for a car purchased brand new--and when it goes to the shop, it stays there for weeks while parts are shipped from Germany. |

I purchased my 2006 Passat new because of the engine response and luxury items. I am very sorry now I purchased it. I have had nothing but problems from the 1st day of purchase. I recommend stay away from VW Products all together. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Volkswagen Passat?
Get rid of all the electrically problems and check engine light problems all your customers are facing. Make more features standard on a car this price. Honda,Toyota offer same base vehicle for a lot less and they hold their value better. 2006 Volkswagen Passat Review:
