2006 Toyota Tundra

Pros: What do you like about 2006 Toyota Tundra?
Looks good and is mechanically sound.
Six cupholders, lots of room for the family.
I have a color matched camper cover that the dogs ride in.
It is like a Giant Sequoia.
Love the sunroof and the rear locking differential on my 2 wheel drive.
Great lights.

Cons: How would you improve 2006 Toyota Tundra?
Remove the fan motor and shroud and replace with a dual electric fan unit. This would free up several horsepower from the motor, make the engine run cooler and possibly up the gas mileage slightly.

Put disc brakes on the rear.

Better gas mileage would be great. I usually get 13-15 around town. It is a big vehicle, but a friend of mine has a quad cab 07 Chevy with the 327 and gets 17-19 and usually 19 around town.

The original tires wore out in 30K miles. The starter went out at 15K miles. Replaced under warranty.

I really like my truck. It is a great vehicle for traveling with the family. It pulls my pop-up camper just fine. Better gas mileage would be great but I was aware of this shortcoming before purchase.

I love this truck. I had a 2007 Nissan Titan which was totaled by a DD. This is a much better truck.

It has an A.R.E. camper.

Cruise control sloppy.

2006 Toyota Tundra Review:
Cruise control not very responsive. This is my 2nd Tundra and the cruise in it was the same. Once the speed dropped 2 miles below set speed then it wants to down shift to pick up speed.

Rear end slop. Was also evident in my 1st Tundra. 1st Tundra was a 2 wheel drive. It has a 2nd row stereo with remote for rear seat passengers but it has to be set to the same radio station as the front stereo. Makes a whole lot of STUPID sense. Wonder whose brain child this was. Features and comfort is no where near a 99 Chevy Silverado I had. Although it had slop in the rearend also.

Drove a 2010 Dodge Ram rental once and think its a whole lot better in every category. Now that isn't comparing the New Tundra.

Good solid truck.

Better turning radius. Very hard to park .
Can't keep the front aligned. Never been off road but still have trouble with alignment.

Seat Belt warning a total pain driving on my farm. Should be able to mute it.

Engine acceleration from idle too jumpy. Bad fuel schedule design!
