2006 Toyota RAV4

Pros: What do you like about 2006 Toyota RAV4?
Roomy, versatile, good handling.
I can actually stack 6 average size pallets in the back for my fire pit!

Cons: How would you improve 2006 Toyota RAV4?
This is my 2nd 06 Rav4. 1st one leaked onto passengers floor when it rained - couldn't find source. This one doesn't, but it seems to burn a little oil. It has 90,000 miles. I have NO other complaints.

When getting out or in, vehicle it is at hip height.

Accelerator problems - just dies when pulling out on to highway and then all of a sudden there it is you finally have power.. Could cause an accident.

I am having problems with water coming in at the passenger side, up underneath the dashboard somewhere. It driving me crazy!! I can't seem to locate where the water is coming in at. Although one day it was raining really hard and I decided to put plastic over the vent outside of the vehicle and guess what, no water leaks. So I don't know, maybe the drain on the outside of vehicle isn't draining quickly enough, then overflows and somehow finds its way into the vehicle.

2006 Toyota RAV4 Review:
This is my second Rav4. I do like it but I don't think I'll ever purchase another one. For the money, I expected a vehicle with less headaches. I wonder if I should get rid of it now before something else happens.

Good gas mileage with 4 cyl.

Lots of cupholders & clever storage nooks & crannies.
Neat features.
Perfect size.
Good looking.
Economical.

Cons: How would you improve 2006 Toyota RAV4?
The rear middle seat belt. It is stored in the roof above the cargo area and is weird to attach. With 3 passengers in the back, the seatbelt buckles kind of overlap and make it an awkward fit for folks back there. My tiny 2000 Mazda Protege fit three in the back better.

The spare tire unit also rattles and the audio system isn't all that.

I bought a used 2006 sport edition and overall, I LOVE it! It looks great inside & out, it's a lot of fun to drive and handles really well in a variety of conditions.

Powerful.

Opening rear gate window.
Rear gate that is hinged from the left not the right.
Spare tie cover is dorky and falls off.
Spare tire holder does not allow the use of good bike racks due to the lip on the holder I assume to make tire placement easier.

2006 Toyota RAV4 Review:
Not bad, did not like how Toyota dealer dealt with the klunking noise in the steering, they blew it off for a while, then said to fix it would cost money because it was past warranty.

I have owned other Toyotas, I am disappointed that quality has gone down. Back to Hondas I guess.

Slight whine in drivetrain.

Overall good but I have had to return my Rav for warranty work twice. It is overrated and not worth the money I paid for it compared to other vehicles in the SUV class.

The drivetrain whines and toyota said it is engineered that way. I am being told it is what it is so I guess I am stuck with. For having QUALITY as their slogan this rav4 does not show it to me. The whine is making me whine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2006 Toyota RAV4 Review:
Serious problems with my 4 cyl Rav. After taking off and pulling onto highway, car does not want to go, falls on it's face. Will go around 20 mph for a while then suddenly jerks and takes off. Also happens occasionally when I make a turn. Dealer cannot find a problem with it, contacted Toyota a second time and waiting on a response. I want my money back.
