Pros: What do you like about 2006 Toyota Camry?
The car has operated well.

Cons: How would you improve 2006 Toyota Camry?
The car does not handle well in snow. The brakes get snow underneath somewhere and then the brakes do not operate. I have almost had two very bad accidents in this car. I wish someone would check them out, because there could be serious consequences with this car.

Pros: What do you like about 2006 Toyota Camry?
Mileage, large trunk, heated leather front seats.

Cons: How would you improve 2006 Toyota Camry?
I agree with the guest who wrote the review back on 7-21-06. My 2006 Camry does the same thing around 40 mph. Where if I let off gas pedal (trying to maintain a steady speed), it jerks and then when you accelerate it jerks again. I want to know if anyone has ever had this problem fixed by the dealer.
There is also some weird noise with the steering column which worries me that one day I will not be able to steer the car.

2006 Toyota Camry Review:
Quality of my 1994 Camry was much better. We gave it to my daughter 5 years ago and it is still running without any major issues.

I like its handling, nice and agile like a cat.
For a 4 cyl it has amazing power.
Huge trunk and fold down rear seats make lumber hauling a breeze.
Nice instrument and control layout.
Great headlights.

Cons: How would you improve 2006 Toyota Camry?
It needs a more durable suspension system for northern roads.
Interior noise from road is quite loud.
Driver seat very uncomfortable behind legs.
Transmission seems like it may be slipping already at 80 000 miles.
Fuel economy could be a lot better for Toyota.
Apparently there is a factory steering problem and Toyota should fix it for free.
4 cyl not a strong tow for anything bigger than a 12 foot aluminum boat.

2006 Toyota Camry Review:
Purchased Camry because I was fed up with GM crap draining my wallet in repairs, and unreliability. So I knew the Camry had a great reputation for reliability, so I went for it. (Sorry GM.) So far it has proven to be a pretty good car with the exceptions of above.

Comfortable interior.
Good in snow.
Gas mileage is pretty good.

Cons: How would you improve 2006 Toyota Camry?
Stronger acceleration from stop point, otherwise I took my v 4 over 120 mph gradually.
I don't like how the ashtray is positioned.

Overall a good buy. I have about 100 k and haven't done anything besides oil change, breaks, and tires runs. Same as the first day I got it.
Nothing flashy or fancy but dependable.

The headlights are the best that I have ever had on any car that I have owned. They really light up the road well.

My air bags did not go off in a major accident (car totaled & flipped).
Interior (Seats) could have had nicer, more durable fabric and be more comfortable.
Dashboard more sporty.

2006 Toyota Camry Review:
I was on a curvy road when it was barely raining and the car went totally out of control! Hydropaned! Crossed 3 lanes (2 were in the opposite direction) spum 3 times, went into a ravine, flipped, and was stopped by a tree. The air bags never came out. Luckily, after the fire department broke the windshield to get me out (I was wearing my seatbelt and suspended in the air-car was laying on the passenger side) I walked out of the accident. (Unbelievable if you saw the pictures - moon roof smashed & roof caved in, side & front of car caved in, glass everywhere, etc.) God was definitely on my side. Now with all of the recalls, I am wondering if anyone else has had trouble with a 2006 model? It was absolutely frightening-it happened so fast. I was honestly not speeding (speed limit 40) and it was not raining hard. I have been in sales for 25 years so I have done a lot of driving in all kinds of weather in the past. I put my foot on the brake and tried to steer (and did not pump the brakes, as they inform you not to.) Any comments about your 2006 Camry taking off?

I bought it new with 2 miles on odometer, 3yrs ago.
I presently have 79000 miles on the car.
I have been broadsided. I am going to be on third set tires.

Increase the body paint durability.
Protect the bottom of the engine compartment to keep out the squirrels.

Overall I am very satisfied with my 4 cyl 16 valve engine and automatic drive train.

I think the "paint" needs to be much better it chips to easy....

The interior is made out of cheap cloth and needs to be up graded
