Better brakes. No, a LOT better brakes. These are the worst brakes on any car I've had since the 60's.
Upgraded design/interior, which it now partially has.
Better fuel economy; availability of a diesel option.
Smoother drivetrain.
Better manual transmission linkage.

easy to extract power with simple mods. with full exhuast you keep with sti's beat them if you can drive.

stronger tranny, power is almost to much for tranny, max is 300hp. paint is about 3 layers of paint and clear coat short of decent.

was expecting more from car. too many problems. good bang for the buck cars. if you wasnt to take the risk. first year with the 2.5 matted mto the 5spd. not adiquit for this car.

2006 Subaru Impreza Review:
This is a great car for the money. The basic engine with a 5 speed manual is a "stealth sports car." It handles like a 3 series in this regard. What it lacks is an eqaully quality interior, but then it would be in the mid-20s and not the high teens. Nevertheless, the seats are comfortable for the class and the ride is superb, period. The only real negative is the barely adequate leg room in the back. If they ever got smart and cut off the top this would be an amazingly cheap but fun convertible.

interior, sound system needs bettr louder sound. where in america here we love a good sound system.

When you walk on the lot and see this car- you really get what you see. The STI is impressive when pushed yet very drivable in slow traffic. This is an addicting car. I can't wait for the weekends!

Improve spring rates for better long disance drive comfort. The speakers are worse than you can imagine. $150 cures that problem though.
