Make's a rattling noise when starting the car while it sits for a while (overnight). Lasts for 30-45 sec.
Display screen could look better.
Turn radius.
Wish it took 87 gas.

Overall the Maxima is a good car but Nissan will never get my business again. I Just purchased a used 2006 SE with only 45,000 miles on it and the tires were sold bald but he sales manager and service manager claims that it will pass inspection in Oct. We will see. Haven't had the car for 2 months and I'm already experiencing problems with the car. The rattling noise stated above I'm just not understanding. Dropped it off at the dealership for 4 days and when I picked up back up it made the same noise when my car was brought to me. NISSAN IS HORRIBLE AND I CAN'T WAIT TO GET RID OF THE CAR ALREADY... |

It would be nice and cheaper if it ran on regular unleaded gas.

I have had my car since Oct. 2005. I had a new catalytic converter put in my vehicle 4 months ago and have replaced my car battery once a yr since I've had it. I replaced all the fan belts because they were cracked. I only have 45,000 miles and now my transmission is being replaced. I don't think they are making cars to last these days. I am disappointed and may not ever buy another Nissan and that's all I've for the past 20 yrs. |

i purchased my maxima in march 2007, i had a oil change done and come to find out i have cracked threads on all four tires. I just had a blow out on one fo the tires and almost lost control of my car. I hate nissan i can't wait unitl i can get out of this car. NISSAN SUCKS THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT THE CONSUMER. They put the cheapest tires on their cars and don't want to replace them, they only have a year warranty on the tires and you better be the person that purchased the car or you will be like me ass out and have to buy more tire because i brought a used car with only 20,000 miles on it. Buying Nissan was a big mistake i am taking my business to Toyota. |

Great performance, Overall Gas mileage is closer to 20. Had a 2001 Maxima SE, no comparison, the 2006 is a total improvement over the 2001. Was considering a 2006 Toyota Avalon(nice car), but after a test ride I went with the Maxima SL Mostly because of the performance factor. |

Maxima stands on its own. No other car in its class can match Maxima's engine performance, handling, styling, build-quality and luxury. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Nissan Maxima?
My only complaint is its turning radius. Maybe the next generation needs to be RWD with AWD option. 2006 Nissan Maxima Review:

I compared the Maxima, Acura TL, Accord, and G35. It came down to the Maxima and TL. For a comparably equipped car, the TL was about $2000 more. I loved the way of them drove, so I picked the Maxima becuase it was a little bit more roomy and cheaper. I really like this car. The power and luxury (I got all the bells and whistles) combo is great. I have had no initial quality problems and don't expect to have any. I find this car to be a great highway cruiser, but the real fun is how it performs on winding back roads. The acceleration, handling and braking are excellent. I don't see what all the fuss is about torque steer. 265 hp with front wheel drive is pushing the limits (but fun) |

none that I can think of 2006 Nissan Maxima Review:
I have driven Nissan's for 15 years....Pathfinders, 300ZX, Altima, and now a new Maxima..what a dream. Handles like a sportscar, but appointed and comfortable like a luxury sedan. While I miss a manual shift, the tip-tonic is fun, although it is easier just to use the drive selection in auto. Decent mileage, large tank and regular gas make it very affordable to run for this type of car. |
