The Limited Edition version looks much nicer with the monochromatic pieces.
The interior is very roomy and nicely designed.

We had a major electrical problem at about 90,000 miles where corrosion from water leaking into the car caused the left-hand power mirror to short out and a wiring module to short out. This repair was very expensive and it seems to have been related to a leak from the windshield, but the dealer can't find any leaking from the windshield so now it's just a mystery problem. The windshield leakage issue has been noted by others and has led to shorting out and damage of parts with a number of other owners. Lincoln should address this as it appears to be a manufacturing defect that causes the problem. 2006 Lincoln Navigator Review:
Very nice car inside and out. Newer models (2007+) have a smoother ride but seem to accelerate more sluggishly. Newer models also get better fuel economy and have an up-to-date feel in the Navigation/display/audio system. The limited edition is one of the nicest looking SUVs from the front. Lots of aftermarket modifications exist. |

What's not to like? Good looks, great handling for a 3-ton truck, comfort and ease of entry and exit for us older guys :) Cons: How would you improve 2006 Lincoln Navigator?
Obviously the mileage is a big issue with all large suv's, not just the Navigator. I don't know why they cannot throttle back to 4 cylinders when crusing at higher speeds. Maybe a cvt like they use in combines would produce better mileage. 2006 Lincoln Navigator Review:
This is the perfect car for those who need the extra space and desire the incredible luxury the Navigator offers. My wife has an '03 and it just keeps running with very little in the way of repairs. So far, replacing that battery (which, if you've never noticed, is about the size of a small Toyota) has been the most expensive repair we have had.
I looked at the Escalade as well as the Nav and decided to keep our an all Navigator family :)

Comfortable seating for everyone, good performance & stopping. Great hand brake release when any gear is engaged.Style & presence for an evening out to dinner or in the country side. Please, Lincoln buy decent carpets. The rear loading bay carpet is a disgrace. You have a fine vehicle & it is mared with cheap, cheap bits. I would willingly pay another $500+ to get the finish of a Lexus internally, because this is what I see on every trip and it brings down the overall image. 2006 Lincoln Navigator Review:
Okay were do you start? The nature of the beast is she is a big SUV with 5.4. Don,t expect good MPH or blood rushing performance & because of the price you get what you pay for in terms of finish. However, she is reliable,well designed,has a massive carrying bay & one of the best looking 4 x 4 (excluding new Range Rover)on the road. She is very comfortable on long boring trips with all the nice bits in the cabin. Braking is very good & cornering is forgiving on that unexpected bend. I just would like Lincoln to spend a little more money on the general finish internally like our Japanese cousins do.I would not hesitate to replace her with the same model or recommend this vehicle to a friend |

We tried all the SUV's but this one has them all beat. Air Conditioned seats, smoothest ride, punch from the start, Luxury like I wanted. More of what I wanted than other SUVs had to offer. Worth the extra money I spent. They really listened to the the consumer on this one. |

Interior is first class. I would loose the radio door/cover though. Seats are unbelievably comfortable. Nothing I have sat in compares. Fit, finish, and materials blows away domestics and is at least as good as Lexus RX and GX. Handling is better than Lexus as well. Brake dust is horrible. Needs cleaning several times a week. Went to ceramic and it is much improved. Vehicle is so quiet, you can hear the wind noise caused by mirrors. Need to improve that. Windshield wipers do a poor job at highway speed unless windshield has been freshly cleaned. Rain X helps. 2006 Lincoln Navigator Review:
My second. Put well over 100K miles on my 99 Nav. It would be nice to have a few more ponies and mileage, but that could be said of most all vehicles. Interior is on mine is black, exterior is silver. Best looking and best finished of any SUV as far as I am concerned. Handling in wet and around sweeping turns above 70mph is very good even though mine is 2wd. Braking is excellent, but with stock pads dust is horrible. You won't be disappointed with the luxury. Service at local dealer is biggest complaint. One small problem becomes many problems after they get done. Selling dealer did a great job, but to far to take it to them for service. I would buy it. |

Power folding third row - you'll never by another SUV without it (though I wish it had one-touch controls). Power Lift Gate. Power Running Boards. Heated and cooled seats! Navigation system. Huge storage consoles - front and back. Large third row fits adults easily. Rides like a Lincoln! Cons: How would you improve 2006 Lincoln Navigator?
Lots of cheap plastic in console and dash - I bought dealer's wood grain package option. Get it if you can because it makes a world of difference in the interior look. Needs a backup camera. Just bought this about a month ago and have driven it about 1000 miles so far. It's a pleasure to drive and really is luxurious. My wife bought a new Lexus Rx330 last year, so I have been comparing both. On the whole, I like the Navigator better because of its size, but there are a few luxury items that the Lexus has that would be nice to have on the Navigator. Overall, I love this new Navigator, and I'm glad I chose it over the Escalade. My friend has an Escalade that I've driven, and I had serious reservations about some of it's features. For my money, the Navigator is the best luxury full-size SUV out there, and nearly everyone I know really talks about how great it looks. |

Power lift gate with safety feature that will not close if it contacts a hand or other body part in the way. Priceless if you have kids. Third row seating is the most spacious around yet folds flat for better internal loading. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Lincoln Navigator?

Wonderful driving experience, above all i feel absolutely safe since i am female and single. Excellent power and take off, riding up high above smaller cars is great also feel safe in ice and snow and i have great traction with 4 wheel drive and other drive options. Outside is sleek and i get unlimited compliments on my navy. It's great to have the retractable running boards but the ultimate is the automatic lift gate that is wonderful in the winter when i go grocery shopping and the heated seats are the best |

I had a choice of any luxury SUV I would like. I ordered this truck and had to wait as it was a special order color. Silver Birch and with the mono tone wrap. It is the Ultimate with every conceivable bell and whistle!! I love it!! It is super comfy and while the gas mileage is not a selling point, it gets within tenths of my Expedetion that preceeded it. I did get an after market DVD as the factory one is puny i comparision. Everyone takes a second look at this vehicle. I'm glad I don't have a black Escalade like everyone else!! |
