Better cup holders, coin holder, for $35K I wish my car came with memory seat. Also have 'popping' sound coming from the middle dash around the AC vents and center console. Lots of brake dust. 2006 Lexus IS-Series Review:

Remove the NAV system "safeguards" and allow the driver to program while driving. Mercedes, BMW & Acura do not have this silly obstacle that no doubt was instituted by the Toyota lawyers. 2006 Lexus IS-Series Review:

The overall look of the IS as well as the powerful engine and quality material used for the interior. Another great feature is the interior lighting. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Lexus IS-Series?
Of course, more room for the occupants of the back seat. A full size spare tire (like the G-35 has)and a higher quality "stock" sound system. 2006 Lexus IS-Series Review:
I previously owned a G-35 and traded for the IS. Don't get me wrong, the G-35 is an excellent car, but when you sit in the Lexus, you really SEE and feel the difference. Overall I am extremely pleased with my car (have owned for 6 months) and love every minute I'm behind the wheel. (I haven't allowed my husband to drive it yet!) |

Drove a '01 BMW 325 and looked long and hard at the new 330, but ergonomics and engine in the 350 trumped it everytime. Enough to overcome slight handling deficit. Finish is great and remote key system is wonderful to use. Good value, wonderful dealer system, joy to drive. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Lexus IS-Series?

More sporty feel than other Lexus cars in the price range. Good ergonomics and A/C controls, Bluetooth hands-free feature. Smooth and quiet engine compared to almost any other car. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Lexus IS-Series?
Less road noise would be nice. Nearly all the sound heard inside is from tires on the road. Not real loud, but louder than the engine or wind noise. Maybe the higher profile 17" tires are quieter than the 18" sport tires.
Longer tread life on the tires that come with the car. I would make memory seats and power tele/tilt steering wheel standard. 2006 Lexus IS-Series Review:
Overall impressions after four days is that it is an impressive car, almost as comfortable as the ES 350 or GS 300, but much more fun to drive. I am getting used to the GPS Nav system now, and can find my way through most of the menus. We looked at the BMW 325i, the Cadillac CTS, the Acura TL, and the Infinity G35, as well as the GS300 and ES350. All are fine cars, but the IS 350 had more performance than the others, almost as tight as the BMW, and quieter and smoother than any of the others.
Sales reps for all but the Cadillac were very knowledgeable and professional, answering all questions directly without criticizing any of our other prospective cars or trying to hard sell us, often being very complimentary of the competition. No harrassing phone calls, but always available for additional questions or another comparison drive. |

It should have more horsepower, not sure why Lexus was stingy in this category?? But I really like it. Best driving vehicle I've ever had. But if you have frequent backseat passengers, you may want to continue your search. |

I am in love with this vehicle. Is 350. I am a big guy with 6 foot teenagers. they still fit at the back with a liitle adjustment with the front seats. I just feel complete in this car. The luxury features absolutely astonish. The way this car drives is unbelievable. I threw it around like a wild dog and the car held on tenaciously. I don't know what those silly comments about the VDIM cutting down on the fun. I am in car heaven. |

3" more rear leg room. Real metal on transmission tunnel trim. Brighter center consol LEDs and LCD backlights on stock stereo and clock, hard to see in sunlight. Tiny bit more brake and steering "feel". Slightly smoother gear change from slushbox when accellerating hard. Less smelly rust inhibitor applied to brakes for shipping. It smelt of burning oil for 2 weeks while it burnt off. 2006 Lexus IS-Series Review:
I love my IS350. Its stunning to look at and great fun to drive. Mine is blue onyx with sterling perforated leather. I havn't even really let rip with the throttle yet as I'm being good for the first 1000 miles while I run it in. But even keeping the revs down its a hoot to drive. The brakes are very powerful, but could do with a little more feedback as I find I over brake a little. I'm sure I'll get used to it though. The engine is very smooth and extrordinarily powerful. It growls quietly when you step on the gas but lays down some serious power. The Autobox changes very fast but does jolt a little between changes when you are accellerating fast. The F1 paddles work well. The transmission changes up a gear faster than it changes down. On the way down it hesitates a smidge while it decides if it safe to engage or not. It will change gear on its own if it decides it does not like the gear you select. The AC blows really cold if you want it, and it blows cold or hot air through the front seat perforations. Its great in the Texas heat. I have managed to get the VDIM to engage but I didn't think it was that intrusive. I think folks who drive up to 8/10ths will be fine with it. Like I said I love my IS350. |

I was a loyal Mercedes owner and wanted to buy a new car in 2006. The c230 sucks, it is underpowered and becomming more and more chryslerish by the year. Lexus does a hell of a job and leads this class other than the new BMW. The only problem with the BMW is the douchebags they have slinging them, these guys think they are selling the only car around. My Lexus experience has been an absolute pleasure. |
