2006 Jeep Wrangler Review:
I have the 65th ann package. Love the "sun roof" special wheels and of course the Dana 44's. Have wanted one for 20 yrs and bought one as a 40th birthday gift to myself. Last of the true workhorse 4.0 Jeeps. :(

Pros: What do you like about 2006 Jeep Wrangler?
Off road capability and general coolness. The 06 is the last real Jeep ever produced.

Cons: How would you improve 2006 Jeep Wrangler?
Having someone other than Chrysler build it would be a start. The oil pump assembly drive is faulty on many 04, 05, and 06 Wranglers. You would think they would stop putting the same poorly manufactured component on the 05 and 06 when they realized it was a problem back in 04. You would think they would have recalled the part after it started to fail on a massive scale. You would think Chrysler would pay the parts builders who manufacture this part so that they keep making them. Point being they didn't and now my Jeep is sitting at the dealership, 80th in line for a part that is on an indefinite back order because no one is manufacturing it right now. Oh yeah, fixing the death wobble would be great too.

2006 Jeep Wrangler Review:
Other than being manufactured by Chrysler, this is a great little vehicle. Many people complain that it's uncomfortable and bad on gas. If you want a plush gas saver get a Prius. Jeeps are one of the greatest vehicles on the planet, if you need one. Because of where I live a 4X4 is a necessity to get in and out during the rainy months. In this respect my Jeep has never let me down. However luxury it ain't. They are hot in the summer, cold in the winter and ride like crap all year long. It is however, totally worth it when you have two feet of snow on ten miles of muddy mountain road. I love my Jeep, but unfortunately it does me little good sitting at the dealership for weeks with no timeline for getting it back. Maybe I will get lucky and the dealership will agree to let me trade it in on something I can actually drive. Bite me Chrysler, never again.

Her Name is "Girlfriend". I believe I am sexy, but she is clearly Gorgeous. Even when I do not feel that I may not look my best, no worries she has my back. Brought her home in 05, she is listed as an 06 and it is about to be 2010. She has been washed manually three times, but operates and commands three times better than the Commander I also own.

Cons: How would you improve 2006 Jeep Wrangler?
I would love to be able to interchange the newer hardtop from 08 and 09. And also stop letting people over-chrome Jeeps unnecessary. There are other vehicles for that and the Jeep police should come and retrieve their Jeep owning privileges! Other than that the 4 door wrangler would not kill me.

I have an X model with the 6 speed manual and the trac loc differential; 3.73 gears, it's very trail capable. Great vehicle and fun to drive.

Better headlights, not bright enough at night.

I own a 2006 jeep wrangler unlimited 2 door long body,automatic. What do I like about it,well,not having to get out and lock the hubs for 4wd is a good start,add the options of 2wd high,4wd high or 4wd low who needs a stick shift.With the A/C,heater,hardtop for winter,softtop for summer can you say spoiled.Now the extra length and width not only gives you more room but reduces the chances of rolling over and that reduced my insurance.To sum this up the 2006 jeep wrangler unlimited looks and performs great.

2006 jeep wrangler unlimited 2 door long body. Is it true that this is not an option for the 2007,2008 models if so,WHY?. Jeep should make V-8 motors optional for all jeep models this would help for towing purposes.

2006 Jeep Wrangler Review:
I have owned several jeeps and none can compare to the 2006 jeep wrangler unlimited long body. I have made mine into a class 2, it has a 3" lift kit with 33x13.50x15LT Nitto mud grappler tires. Steep muddy inclines,big size rocks,12" logs across the path, 2 foot deep mud holes i havent seen a place i couldnt go yet.

i own a an Unlimited Jeep Rubicon. It goes any where I want to take it with ease

This is an off-road vehicle that will take you anywhere. I test drove the 2007 Jeep Rubicon when I purchased the 2006 Unlimited Jeep Rubicon - the 2006 Jeep Rubicon will go places that the 2007 Jeep Rubicon can only dream about. The extra 5 and 1/2 inches in width on the 2007 Jeep Rubicon took it out of the serious off road vehicle list
