2006 Ford Mustang

Pros: What do you like about 2006 Ford Mustang?
I love the way she looks! "Black Beauty" turns heads whenever we go out riding!

I've wanted a Mustang since I was a young girl.

She handles well and really takes off. Love driving on an open road so I can punch the accelerator and feel the power as you get pinned to the back of the seat and hear the ringing in your ears. It's awesome!

Cons: How would you improve 2006 Ford Mustang?
I have experienced the problem of trying to put gas in the car. Sometimes you only get a dollars worth or so of gas and the pump shuts off. The attendant tries to send me away telling me my tank is full when I know it isn't. I have found that if you turn the gas nozzle upside down when pumping, it doesn't shut off.

I also am having a problem with the paint on the hood of my car. It is "bubbling". I wrote to Ford and was told that they wouldn't fix paint unless the rust eats through my hood. I'm pretty sure there will be no rust eating through the hood since the hood is NOT metal but fiberglass. Anyone else experiencing this paint problem?

Overall I love my pony! Only had her a year now, but hope that I will get more enjoyment than heartache from her for years to come.

I read some of the other comments about problems with other Mustangs and hope they are isolated incidents.

The classic to the new. The car has been re designed to be enjoyed by all ages.
Nice redesign from the body to the motor.
Nice response from the engine through all the gears (auto).
Taking OD off is sweeter though.
Having a cold air intake (K&N) lets her breathe much better with better throttle response.
Nice in the quarter mile.
Handles well for a american classic.

Cons: How would you improve 2006 Ford Mustang?
Purchased in Feb 2006 production date 12/05. Have had 3 batteries replaced a throttle body/sensor, fuel pump and an alternator. When they redesigned the new mustang in 05 Ford did not do a very good job at rectifying the issues most ASE mechs at Ford Dealerships were aware of through Service Bulletins or recalls. Profit I guess. All codes must be cleared when having these items done which most of the mechs do not do. Have a Master Tech at Ford work on your Stang.

2006 Ford Mustang Review:
I love my "Ashley" and she is kept clean and garaged but know and educate yourself with the most common remedies and faults or your stang will be with a mech more then she/he is with you on the open road. ASE mechs are basic car folks go above and beyond and ask for Fords best trained mechs to work on your baby.

Exterior and dash resemble 60's
Mustangs. V-6 performance is much better than earlier models.
Handling is super and braking has been improved.

Cons: How would you improve 2006 Ford Mustang?
Transmission occasionally lurches.

2006 Ford Mustang Review:
Grandson is trading for a 06 mustang. I don't know if this is normal or not: when you open either door, windows come down a bit, and after door is closed, they go back up. If this is normal, why?

Well, I would like to see some more out of the v6, I think the scoop should be an option, the front is a little noisy....

I'm currently 14, will be 15 this month, and my dad bought me a mustang for my first car, its screaming yellow, with black stripes, and the quarter and rear window louvers on it, one original owner 62,000 miles.... Haven't drove it yet but ride in it every day... all round nice car....

Feel.
Handling (I like the stiff feel of the fixed axle suspension).
Sound.
Seat comfort.
Curb appeal.
Tunes.

Cons: How would you improve 2006 Ford Mustang?
Auto trans takes a bit to wind up but then she goes like a bat outta heck.
Blind spots (GT coupe) can be tricky - especially when... at speed!
Wish it were a true 5.0 liter car and shifted a bit sharper.

2006 Ford Mustang Review:
4th 'stang - 69 coupe, 05 6cyl coupe, 06 6cyl CV and 06 GT coupe. Love em all and they just keep getting better. Next one? Hmmmm....

It makes a LOT of front end noise. Dealer can't seem to figure it out. Has anyone had this problem?

still has whine in rear mostly when u let off gas at low speed. last 2 did same, still has road noise coming rear wells. prefer older wheel tilt, would like new auto trans to shift faster.

its still the best American sport/performance car going I've owned 16 of them.
I'm 55, I've got a 86 GT drag car, this is my 1st new style w/auto has all opt.
but sun roof which I don't like, but all & all I love the car.
the med. met. blue makes it a comment car by young & old.

Everything but the shifter and battery that keeps going dead.

Hurst Short-Throw shifter should have been installed or have been a $200 option.

2006 Ford Mustang Review:
Purchsed GT new in 11-05. Battery dead at 725 miles/5720 miles and 5870 miles. Dealer checked and all is "OK".
