The classic to the new. The car has been re designed to be enjoyed by all ages.
Nice redesign from the body to the motor.
Nice response from the engine through all the gears (auto).
Taking OD off is sweeter though.
Having a cold air intake (K&N) lets her breathe much better with better throttle response.
Nice in the quarter mile.

Purchased in Feb 2006 production date 12/05. Have had 3 batteries replaced a throttle body/sensor, fuel pump and an alternator. When they redesigned the new mustang in 05 Ford did not do a very good job at rectifying the issues most ASE mechs at Ford Dealerships were aware of through Service Bulletins or recalls. Profit I guess. All codes must be cleared when having these items done which most of the mechs do not do. Have a Master Tech at Ford work on your Stang. 2006 Ford Mustang Review:
I love my "Ashley" and she is kept clean and garaged but know and educate yourself with the most common remedies and faults or your stang will be with a mech more then she/he is with you on the open road. ASE mechs are basic car folks go above and beyond and ask for Fords best trained mechs to work on your baby. |

Auto trans takes a bit to wind up but then she goes like a bat outta heck.
Blind spots (GT coupe) can be tricky - especially when... at speed!
Wish it were a true 5.0 liter car and shifted a bit sharper. 2006 Ford Mustang Review:

still has whine in rear mostly when u let off gas at low speed. last 2 did same, still has road noise coming rear wells. prefer older wheel tilt, would like new auto trans to shift faster. 2006 Ford Mustang Review:

Hurst Short-Throw shifter should have been installed or have been a $200 option. 2006 Ford Mustang Review:

I have a 2006 GT Mustang and I have been having trouble filling up my gas tank. No matter what the gas gauge says the pump shuts off because its telling the gas pump there is a full tank. I've gone to a different pump and it wouldn't matter, it registered full after 17 cents and we "forced" the pump to add another $18.00 into it. It's been intermittally and I have taken it to the Ford Dealership to have it looked into.
They added a new gas "throat" which has a sensor in it to take care of the problem. When I got the car back I was actually having more gas added to the tank cause it registered full before it was. But unfortunately after two weeks it happened again when I stopped to put $15.00 in it. The gas attendant kept on hitting the nozzle to add the gas. It doesn't matter whether it was to fill or just add a couple of dollars in it.
One of the Ford employees has a mustang also and she said she thought it was her imagination when she had it happened to her.
One other Mustang enthusiast said he had heard about it happening but this was over a year ago and I only met him once at a mustang meet.
Has anyone else have a problem with this and what was the outcome?

We have a GT Convertible which is an absolute hoot to drive. The acceleration and handling is almost as good as my Corvette. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Ford Mustang?
The stock manual shift linkage is mediocre--when I had it replaced with a Roush short-throw shift linkage kit, the car was much easier to drive in a spirited manner. In addition to making a short-throw shift linkage standard equipment, I would also suggest making a cold air return system like a K&N FIPK unit standard along with a free flow exhaust standard. 2006 Ford Mustang Review:
For the money, it is impossible to touch the performance, handling and looks of the Mustang GT. Why they bother making a V6 model mystifies me but there must be some legitimate reason (my guess is so the secretaries and non-car nuts can have some measure of fun. We love our Mustang GT Convertible! |
