solid ride, good power , and lots of room Cons: How would you improve 2006 Ford Focus?
Needs to have rear disc brakes as a standard. the rear drum brakes SUCK!!! they squeak, squeak, squeak and wont shut up. Ford service dept says its normal and to rinse off daily with a water hose..get real ford. 2006 Ford Focus Review:

Back seats to go down flat, being able to put gas in my tank without it spitting back out. I have already had it in to be fixed and I'm still not able to put a full tank of gas in it without it running out of the tank onto my car. 2006 Ford Focus Review:
Happy with the price, not too happy with the MPG for gas. I get 38 MPG with my 2000 saturn. I bought my car may27 and by june 15 it was back in the shop because i was't able to put more than $3.00 of gas in my car before it would start coming out of the tank. Took it to a local dealer, they had it for almost 2 weeks, said they fixed the problem, it seemed to work fine for about 1 month,and the problem is back again. |

The Display of all the instrumentation and stereo controls. Good Interior setup. Good visibility view. Nice Pirelli Tires. Good handling for a car that size. Decent amount of interior room. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Ford Focus?
More horsepower, although the car does have an exceptable amount of power for its class. I think some more grunt would top it off. 2006 Ford Focus Review:

I love the euro look. The performance is better w/the manual transmission than w/auto. Corners very well, with good acceleration, surprising, in fact. I get better than average mileage, 32 in city and 38 on the road. A/C is cold and the vent controls are flexible. I really like the cruise control and i am very pleased with its performance. The car is well insulated and is 'tight' - that may be why people think that the doors do not close smoothly. Comfortable on road trips - everything is easily accessible. Engine compartment is laid out pretty well too. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Ford Focus?
I too would like to see a locking gas cap or door. Car should come standard with mud flaps/splash guards. Road noise can be considerable on less than good road surfaces. 2006 Ford Focus Review:
I feel fortunate that a local Ford dealership has a purchase program with the company that I work for. Otherwise I may have ended up with a Scion or a PT Cruiser, the other autos that I looked at, instead of my Focus ZX3 se. It's a blast to drive, not too tight, and just loose enough to thrill. I must admit that the first time I really hit the accelerator, it totally surprised me. I love it in the turns and it's comfortable enough on road trips. Passengers entering and exiting the back seats are in for an adventure, but I have carried several 6' plus riders with no complaints. |

What a surprise to drive the replacement for the Escort, and find it to be such a fun car. Nothing like the Escort. I bought the 5 speed, and it has every imaginable option ... some which I haven't figured out what to do with as yet. Incredible gas mileage, plenty of looks, an unbelievable warranty, shifts as smooth as anything I have every driven, and for its size, very quiet. No, I am not a Ford salesman, I am a cop who rides the big Crown Vic, and was absolutely astonished at how nice this car is. The Japanese have nothing close to this car, when you factor price, gas mileage, comfort and basic warranty. Enjoy this neat car! |

Great sounding CD/MP3 player, optional moon roof, sporty tail fin on the ZX4 SES sedan, and all this for a lease price that was $100 lower monthly than Toyota Corolla and Honda Civic--at least based on the dealers in my area. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Ford Focus?
Doors on the '06 model don't shut smoothly--I wish they could fix this. Questions about electrical system so far in first 1,000 miles and fuses seem fine but now need to ask dealer. This is my second Focus. I purchased a 2000 Focus SE, and now have 93k miles on it, and it still runs well. So, I took out a lease recently on a 2006 ZX4 SES--and mind you, I try many rental cars, so I like to compare. This Focus has all the creature comforts pretty much. It handles firmly like the Corolla, and is roomier both in cabin and trunk space over the Corolla and Civic. The gas mileage is a little less than my 2000 SE, but still very good. Reliability problems experienced in the first 1k miles: doors don't shut smoothly--I have to slam them shut Also, instrument cluster light and tail lights failed--looked for failed fuse--found none so far. Gas cap light on for unknown reason. |

Just Bought a 2006 Focus SE. Have 1500 miles on it. This car doesn't drive like a small car; it is comfortable and has a quick response when you hit the the pedal. Handles like a dream and feels at home on the highway. Gas mileage isn't as promised but isn't far off. I am averaging 24 MPG city & 30 highway. So far I am very happy with the car. |

I am a single mom and I was looking for a car that had room plus good mileage. This is a good car because it has fold in seats in the back to put longer stuff in your trunk. The trunk is large too. The seats have anchors for car seats and you can still fold one side or both sides down if you have a rather large item. I love my car. |

Mazda engine is very smooth - car responds very well. And with the MP3 Player - I can fit at least 8 full music CDs on one CD using MP3 file format. The stereo sounds great - even though I can load 6 CDs, my one CD in MP3 format is good enough. Perhaps I could have saved with the single CD system! Cons: How would you improve 2006 Ford Focus?

I was looking for a personal car to zip around in that was cheap on gas. I settled for a 2006 Toyota Corolla with sunroof, but due to a shortage, car was not to be delivered for 3 weeks! For the fun of it, I visited a Ford dealer and checked out the Focus. For less money, I got a boat load of options not planned for the Corolla. After a test drive, there was no turning back. Seats are much more comfortable and overall the car is much more fun to drive. I never thought I would buy a Ford, but so far I love the car + highly recommend you test drive one! |

I wished they didn't change the exterior styling, it's horrible especially for the hatchback version. It's basically the same Focus, but more refined and it handles great, very predictable and secure. The interior space is quite good for the size of the car. Leather seat option is worth it. Adds significantly to the look of the interior. Optional Sony audiophile system pumps up the volume and sub-woofer on CDs. Car wants to go on the highway! Great in the turns on New England country roads. Nicely tuned exhaust system. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Ford Focus?
Back seat compartment needs some attention. Needs light even if it is located around cup holder. Lack of head rest is a safety concern but does allow you to see out the rear window. Trade-off. Should have insert for CD holder that would allow for alternate use such as change holder. 2006 Ford Focus Review:
Pros: I bought a highly loaded ST (6-track CD, leather, heated seats, air bags) less than Mazda 3, Toyota Corolla, Honda Civic. Mazda 3 was comparable but more expensive and dash board was chintzy and rode harder. Adding any options to Corolla was expensive. The Focus ZX4 ST handles great, rides nice, and is comfortable to sit in. Shifter is quick and maximum torque is found at a good RPM. Trunk is very adequate for this class of car. Good HVAC. Cons: No light for the back seat compartment. Lack of automatic could be annoying to some but SE offers a solution. |
