Looks nice.
Drives good.
Comfortable for short fluffy person. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Ford Focus?
Brakes squeak loud all the time. Change whatever makes tires wear out every 17000 miles!
Cup holder is so close to dash above it you can not get cup in and out with out straw hitting dash and to far away.
CD holder to far away.
More room between seats but then car would have to be wider!
Key got stuck in ignition, sales manager said he never heard of that and everyone in service had gone home so I had to leave key in car. Doing a search I have found many people have had this problem! People have paid up to $800 to get fixed. I parked on a hill one day and it came out after a few weeks of being stuck in there. 2006 Ford Focus Review:
Dealers do NOT honor warranty! Tires wore out dealer said tough. Stereo ate CD, replacement one works some times. Seat covers stain horribly even with me paying for Simonex. Trunk leaks. Noisy very noisy! Brake roters wear unevenly so they can not be turned, have to get new ones. |

I have owned this vehicle for 3+ yrs and in this time the power steering unit, alternator, gear shift assembly, engine was half rebuilt and vent selector have all gone bad. 2006 Ford Focus Review:
Ford warranty did cover these problems, except vent selector, but overall very disappointing. Rear brakes also an issue. Will never buy a "Found on Road Dead" vehicle again. |

I love the euro look.
The performance is better w/the manual transmission than w/auto. Corners very well, with good acceleration, surprising, in fact.
I get better than average mileage, 32 in city and 38 on the road. A/C is cold and the vent controls are flexible.
I really like the cruise control and i am very pleased with its performance.
The car is well insulated and is 'tight' - that may be why people think that the doors do not close smoothly.
Comfortable on road trips - everything is easily accessible. Engine compartment is laid out pretty well too. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Ford Focus?
I too would like to see a locking gas cap or door.
Car should come standard with mud flaps/splash guards.

I feel fortunate that a local Ford dealership has a purchase program with the company that I work for. Otherwise I may have ended up with a Scion or a PT Cruiser, the other autos that I looked at, instead of my Focus ZX3 se. It's a blast to drive, not too tight, and just loose enough to thrill. I must admit that the first time I really hit the accelerator, it totally surprised me. I love it in the turns and it's comfortable enough on road trips. Passengers entering and exiting the back seats are in for an adventure, but I have carried several 6' plus riders with no complaints. |

Even with the wagon it is quick and responsive at the light and getting on freeways. Great visibility. Impressive cargo space, particularly with rear seats down. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Ford Focus?
The brakes are squeaking like made and Ford says there is nothing they can do about it. Have taken it to another mechanic and he agrees that is one problem with the Focus regardless of which model. Fuel economy not bad for the year but could stand a boost. Rated miles are not possible for this vehicle. 2006 Ford Focus Review:

OMG! DON'T BUY - Unless you have lots of money to replace the tires. I have an 06 ZX4 and am having to replace the tires again since I bought it! This will be the 3rd set! Average tire life is 16,000-19,000 miles w/rotation! I am an average highway driver, not for speed or thrills!!! I purchased this car for the economy, but with the replacing of tires I don't believe I'm saving much!!! I complained to Ford Motor Co. & was told the car was running to specifications. Hmmmmm... Would never buy another one. |

Better gas mileage, I had a Ford Escort (which is a mid size car, bigger than a Focus) that got better gas mileage than the Focus. You cannot see the speedometer over the steering wheel, you cannot use the cup holders at all because the cup falls right out and the doors are hard to open, the rubber keeps coming off the bottem of the door. It has been fixed once and now the rubber is hanging again. Everytime I get in or out of the car, I have to reattach the rubber to the door. 2006 Ford Focus Review:
I always get my cars from Webb Ford in Highland Indiana and was very disappointed this time. They treated me like I was a "dumb woman". I never want to go back there again. Also, I wrote 3 letters to the Ford Company and never got a response. |

Needs to have rear disc brakes as a standard. the rear drum brakes SUCK!!! they squeak, squeak, squeak and wont shut up. Ford service dept says its normal and to rinse off daily with a water hose..get real ford. 2006 Ford Focus Review:
