I love the New sporty look! and the improved V8 from my previous 1997 Ford Explorer Cons: How would you improve 2006 Ford Explorer?
I would improve the explorers performance in electrical problems all being the New and enhanced safety features! 2006 Ford Explorer Review:
I would improve the overall trips to the Ford Garage! Ever since I bought this Lemon "Explorer" I have been cursed, new 6 disc cd changer, new crash sensor, new tire sensor, new electrical harness in passenger side which had to remove seats and carpet for, blemish in leather, and New EXHAUST! all in 5 MONTHS!!! |

The quiet ride firm ride,interior and exterior quality and design. The navigation radio is very accurate and easy to use. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Ford Explorer?
Move interior door handle pulls and change instant mile per gallon graph to a digital number readodut and offer a hybrid version. 2006 Ford Explorer Review:
Overall I find the 2006 Explorer an excellent value, where as it has a few short comings ie door handle location and fuel economy, you can't beat the value especially if you can get it for dealer invoice plus a rebate. |

Ford carried over a lot of the F150 styling for the new Explorer interior - good move. The vehicle is screwed together very well and takes SUV comfort to a level I thought available only on imports. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Ford Explorer?
Ford has to get rid of the turn signal stalk/wiper assembly - ancient technology. Move the wiper control to the 3:00 position on the steering column a la BMW. Heated seats as a stand alone option would also be nice. 2006 Ford Explorer Review:
Having had Explorers in the past I was skeptical about how different the 2006 model could be. The difference is dramatic. This vehicle is solid and quiet. Finally Detroit is not just playing catch up with the European and Japanese car companies. This vehicle is every bit as good and in some cases miles better than the competition. |

If Fords are in fact the best built vehicles then a 100K warranty should be standard! 2006 Ford Explorer Review:
Was looking for something different after owning 4 Explorers. Had major problem with my '02 to the point Ford gave me a free ESP. After test driving everything else I bought the first '06 sold from my dealership. Over all you cannot beat the styling, ride, room, power, comfort, price or anything about the Explorer. I do have concerns about the service records given my past experiences with Explorers. My last 2 were in the shop more times then I care to mention. I just hope Ford's motto lives up to my '06 XLT and their quality was job one when building my '06. |

Would like to see the stick back on the column allowing more storage room in the console. Interior door handles are in an awkward place. Too difficult to pull a fully extended door closed from the drivers seat. 2006 Ford Explorer Review:

Nothing really besides fuel economy even though I get about 17 city and 22 highway instead of the posted 14 city and 20 highway, can't complain though. 2006 Ford Explorer Review:
I was really into the 2005 Explorer and was really tempted to buy it because as we all know some car makers can really screw up a great thing, but waiting for the 2006 was the best choice I could make. As soon as I got in the 2006 everything was right there, in easy reach. As i test drove the vehicle, it was so quiet and has a tight turning radius. But the thing that shocked me was when I test drove I punched the gas and it took off with no hesitation and then I slammed the brake from 60 and took my hands off the wheel and... STRAIGHT. I was sold on that and then when I took a corner doing 35, I said "I'm taking this home". If you think I'm lying, try it. I "GUARANTEE" you will be shocked! |

Color of interior and the look of the front of the vehicle. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Ford Explorer?
Better variety of rims. Improve gas mileage more comfortable placement where the top of the seat lands for the head rest. I had a 1996 explorer and it hit very comfortably at the back of my head where I could relax without feeling like I was leaning back. 2006 Ford Explorer Review:
I love my 2004 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer. It rides great and has great heat, a/c, and radio. The seats are comfortable and the ride it smooth. Handling is good too. The only thing I would rather have other than my 2004 Explorer is the 2006 Explorer. |
