| Pros: What do you like about 2006 Ford Expedition?
The 2006 Expedition, being my second Eddie Bauer Expedition, is a wonderful all around vehicle. It cannot be beaten with any other similar SUV, in my experiences and opinion. The fuel mileage is not bad considering other vehicles of its size and high profile. I easily get 21 mpg on the highway; only 13 to 14 in town. My first SUV, a 2003 Expedition, Eddie Bauer edition, on which I put 130k miles, convinced me that it was the vehicle for my family, for travel, for around town, grocery shopping, etc. The 2006 is fantastically responsive, and holds its own in acceleration and top speed a little better than did the 2003. The interior is well designed with quality material. As a Jaguar owner, also,I recognize quality. Ford's quality interior is as nice as one should expect unless he wishes to pay the price of a Lexus or Jag. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Ford Expedition?
The absolutely only improvement that I see needed is in the fuel mileage. I recommend this vehicle to one and all. I suggest that a fuel level of 1/4 tank or better be maintained due to the installation of the fuel pump in the gas tank. Operating the vehicle with less than that amount on a regular basis can cause fuel pump problems. Also, the spark plugs should be changed as recommended by Ford. To allow one to blow out of its position can be costly to replace, as much as $700! Once the mileage passes 90k, the point at which Ford recommends changing the plugs, the chances of it rejecting a plug(s) are greatly enhanced. 2006 Ford Expedition Review:

We have replaced the fuel pump twice in 2 years, Ford doesn't stand behind warranty either, nothing but headaches.
The ford installed remote start doesn't work, nothing but a lemon. 2006 Ford Expedition Review:

It is so roomy and the interior is well laid out and appears more refined than the Tahoe. Rides so smooth. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Ford Expedition?

Love the vechicle. This is my 2nd Expedition, had a 2000 with no trouble. The seats are super comfortable. It makes a great vechicle for traveling. Gas mileage is not bad for this size SUV. |

I think the leather Interior could be about the same as in the Eddie Bauer. The Sport should come with a chrome wheel instead of the dull center cap thats' on the mod wheel. 2006 Ford Expedition Review:
The Expedition Sport is a nice truck for the price and creature comforts. I had a 2000 Explorer with the 5.0 and man, this 300hp 5.4 moves real good! The handling is good for a vehicle this size and I haven't towed anything yet but it will come. |

Too large side view mirrors create wind noise above 65 MPH. Poor quality of material. Plastic bumpers instead what it used to be. Poor quality of interior material. Steering is not anymore "lady friendly" like it use to be on '97 models. Lack of power(4.6 L/V8-2004 EB ). I drove car for 5 months and traded it for Armada...what a difference. I would not buy/recommend Expedition any more. People do know these days what quality is and sooner FORD leadership figures that out sales will go UP again or else. |

Quality! 2006 Ford Expedition Review:
Ford has dramatically lowered its standard and decreased its quality! The Expedition will look nice and all, but its mechanical build is just nonsense. Almost 600 miles on it in the shop for 4 day now and waiting to see if they can stop it from vibrating at 70mph. Also cold start very rough, they say I may need to wait until the next computer flash? Three new tires on the first visit back hatch is not alighned. Same as my last Ford, Never again! |

More exterior colors maybe, 2006 Ford Expedition Review:
Excellent accommodations for adults and 4 little ones, ages 3 through 8. Easy to get in and out of, and love the electric a/c seats, and automatic 3rd row folding seat. Great to drive and maneuver. It is much quieter than you expect from something this size. |

I love every part ... but what I think is so cool are the front seats that cool down and heat up. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Ford Expedition?
So far the only thing I would change would be to not put the chrome ring around the air vents. When the sun shines in, it reflects off of the chrome and it can be annoying at first, but I got used to it. 2006 Ford Expedition Review:

Wife loves heated/cooled front seats and power fold 3rd row seats. Little one loves DVD. I like advancetrac w/ RSC and rear sensor for safety. Dark Cooper color looks great! Wish the Eddie Bauer logo was back on front seats. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Ford Expedition?
This is a brand new SUV and it feels sluggish for a vehicle with 300 HP. I can only imagine it going down hill from here. Wish outside mirrors were power folding. Is there a hybrid coming? 2006 Ford Expedition Review:
Nice upgrade from my '98 Eddie Bauer Expedition. So far no major complaints. It is a full size SUV and if you can't afford the gas -- don't buy this or any large SUV. Read complaints about uncomfortable front seats; I have not noticed that with mine. Overall, this is an excellent SUV, but my next purchase will be the Nissan Armada LE - more horse power, more towing and more low end torque. |
