Cons: How would you improve 2006 Ford Escape? The 4 cylinder engine is horrible - not enough power to pull onto the highway and it gets terrible gas mileage. 2006 Ford Escape Review: Just had the most bizarre incident this morning - while parked at the local convenience store my rear window "exploded", outward, glass flew about 10-15 feet from the vehicle. Called the Ford garage and they claim they have never had any other such incidents.

Pros: What do you like about 2006 Ford Escape? Almost everything. Great v6. Lots of power. Gas mileage as expected for this type of suv. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Ford Escape? AC needs improvement. Seating material is terrible - gets dirty fast, and needs more padding. 2006 Ford Escape Review: Have 60,000 miles on it, mostly highway, so far no problems.

Pros: What do you like about 2006 Ford Escape? I love the exterior looks and the interior too!The sun roof and the 6 cd radio! Cons: How would you improve 2006 Ford Escape? Foot rails on the outside should be automatic on these little suvs and all Escapes should have the stability to prevent roll overs. 2006 Ford Escape Review: 8 out of 10. Would like to see a nice soft leather seats. The 2008 seats look terrible.

Pros: What do you like about 2006 Ford Escape? Love the look, size, & fold down rear seat for tranporting large items. 2006 Ford Escape Review: Danger of rear window explosions without warning. Within the the past 4 months our rear window has completely shattered twice. Once while parked overnight in our driveway, and the second time the rear window exploded while we were driving at a speed of about 10 miles an hour while pulling into a parking lot. Shattered glass everywhere! Poses a great potential threat/safety hazard to babies/children/adults riding in the back seat as well as to dogs who frequently ride in the rear storage area. We are interested in knowing if any other owners have experienced this problem. Ford & our dealership says they haven't had any similar reports.

Pros: What do you like about 2006 Ford Escape? I love my escape especially the room inside and the looks outside, I also like the versatility of a car and a truck when needed, I purchased the 4 cylinder and I love it. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Ford Escape? Slightly noisy at high speeds with the wind noise, but unless you go luxury all cars under a certain price have this. It doesn;t bother me though 2006 Ford Escape Review: Very satisfied with my SUV and I purchased the four cylinder moder, as most 4's go it has no power right away but with the price of gas, I am in no hurry to go back to the gas station,,,very impressed wtih the ride and comfort, I follow the speed limit and relax with the stereo sound, and let everyone else pass me,,,,

2006 Ford Escape Review: I just picked up my new Escape last week and I love it. I did have my eye on this model for some time and feel that I did a lot of research prior to the purchase. However, I discovered this last weekend on my first "roadtrip" that the air conditioning is inadequate -- it only blows the cool air through the dash vents, nothing below the waist. This is sort of an issue for me. At this point, I'm not sure if I would have decided against buying this model based on this one factor, but it really is a huge disappointment. I will definitely be seeking aftermarket repair shops to see about overriding Ford's inept cooling system.

Pros: What do you like about 2006 Ford Escape? Leather seats and all around good looks. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Ford Escape? today's gas prices we could use better mileage. 2006 Ford Escape Review: have driven the vehicle for three months. It is really fun to drive. It is easy to get into and out of. The mileage around town is 18 to 20 mpg. On a trip from Jefferson City, MO to Dayton, OH and return it averaged a little over 25 mpg. The vehicle, for a small SUV, has lots of room and the rear seats fold down for hauling larger items. The engine has plenty of power.

Pros: What do you like about 2006 Ford Escape? Moonroof, hidden spare tire under cargo deck, sharp turning radius, rear seat backrest splits so a passenger may still ride comfortably with the other section laid down for cargo, tailgate raises instead of lowering. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Ford Escape? Factory skid plates underneath for more off-road protection. 2006 Ford Escape Review: I just love the car-like handling; not stiff and bouncy like a truck, a very smooth ride. Equipped with the 6 cylinder, it has plenty of power either from a dead stop or already doing 60 and you need to gas it quick. Very tight steering. Very luxurious with the leather interior and, plenty of head and leg room, both front and rear. Quite a bit of cargo space behind rear seat and even more if you lay 1 or both back seats down. Nice smooth, fairly aerodynamic body design. Reasonably priced.

Pros: What do you like about 2006 Ford Escape? Performance and quality. 2006 Ford Escape Review: This is the best vehicle I have ever owned. It has great performance and tremendous space inside. After 15,000 miles I have not had 1 problem that required a return to my dealership. Ford did a great job with this vehicle. I just bought another Escape for my son in college.

Pros: What do you like about 2006 Ford Escape? Radio volume that decreases volume when you slow down. Setup for satellite radio. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Ford Escape? Easier folding back seats, have to remove headrests to put seat down. 2006 Ford Escape Review: Just bought my Escape and my wife and love it! It's replacing a truck; and with fuel prices highly recommend so far! Decent gas mileage, plenty of pick-up.

Pros: What do you like about 2006 Ford Escape? Love its looks, and the seats fold flat for carrying dogs and materials. Tons of headroom and the size of the sunroof feels like I'm in a convertible. Relatively a quite ride, and I don't mind being stuck in traffic anymore because it's so comfortable, with great visibility and sound system Cons: How would you improve 2006 Ford Escape? Would love better gas mileage, without giving up the power in my V6. And a more powerful ventilation/air system. I can't blow AC on legs. 2006 Ford Escape Review: I wanted a small SUV since the Liberty came out in 2001, but I hated that back swinging door. I loved the Escape's cargo space and when they modified the front lights in 2006, and with Ford's Family plan, I just had to buy it at long last. I love it, my big dogs love it and it's just the right size! I get compliments on the beautiful Titanium green exterior color, and I'm finding that my gas mileage is averaging about 27 mpg; most of my driving is highway miles, so the Hybrid did not fit my bill. I love this car so much!

Pros: What do you like about 2006 Ford Escape? Radio plays MP3 CD's, programmable keyless remote, peppy engine and the radio stays on after you shut off the car for 10 minutes (and the power windows still work too), then they shut off when you open a door. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Ford Escape? Make an outside temperature gauge and privacy glass standard. 2006 Ford Escape Review: Pro: * 4 cylinder engine feels like a V6 * Fit and finish are excellent * Very smooth shifting 5 speed manual transmission * Great factory radio * Good MPG (25.3 average over 4 fill-ups) * ABS standard * No rattles or squeaks * Very easy DIY oil change. Con: * Rear drum brakes * No dual trip odometer * Privacy glass not standard on FWD models * Front discs generate a lot of brake dust. Overall I'm 100% satisfied. This is one SUV that truly earns the "Sport" in "Sport Utility Vehicle". I also enjoy the fact that it hold lots of stuff (33 cubic feet with the seats up and 69.2 with the rear seats down).

Pros: What do you like about 2006 Ford Escape? Firm well shaped seats. Great visibility. Excellent stereo sound. Perimeter alarm system and auto locking. Lots of pep for a 2.3 liter engine, friend has V6 Tribute 4X4 and thinks our Escape is a V6 also. Outstanding braking system reminds me of a pricey German car I once owned. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Ford Escape? Telescoping steering wheel and a dark tint band on the upper windscreen or a visor to fill the gap in the middle. Exhaust could stand a better tuned muffler, ours sounds like one of those little tuner cars with the raspy exhaust. 2006 Ford Escape Review: We replaced a troublesome Focus Wagon and love this 2006 Escape. Had 7 miles on it and we took off for Washington State, averaged 29.9MPG at 70 MPH. Rides firm and quiet and handles like a European sedan. We also got $6,000 knocked off the sticker price.

Pros: What do you like about 2006 Ford Escape? The cargo area, auto off on the passenger front seat air bag if under 100 lbs. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Ford Escape? Should come with lock on spare tire. 2006 Ford Escape Review: I wanted an SUV but didn't want an overly large body. It still has plenty of leg room, head room and all the values a larger SUV has but no overkill on the body size. I started out with the base model because I have never driven an SUV, but I can surely say, I love it so much, I will upgrade to the Limited edition ASAP!

Pros: What do you like about 2006 Ford Escape? Rides like the big ones, looks good and has plenty of pep. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Ford Escape? none at this time. 2006 Ford Escape Review: I have had this 2006 Escape for about a month. I am 6' 275 lbs and I fit just right in it. The new Duratec engine will get into traffic with no problem. So far I like it a lot and I like the gas mileage too.

Pros: What do you like about 2006 Ford Escape? Good all around view. Good gas mileage for a SUV. Sufficient room for 4 adults. Love the moon roof (my first in 40 years of driving). Flat folding rear seats (easy to do) for rear storage. Cons: How would you improve 2006 Ford Escape? Front bucket seats need to be more padded or firmer. Small instrument panel (particularly the speedometer). Factor standard 6-CD changer/AM-FM radio lacks capability of others (Music ID, etc.) Have to remove rear head rests (and find a place to put them) when folding rear seats flat. 2006 Ford Escape Review: Love the style and size and gas efficiency, but on the drive home from the dealer I noticed a vibration at 55mph - drove for about a month (thinking break in) and it never went away. Took to dealer and they "road force balanced" the tires - this appeared to hold for about 20 miles. It's back - apparently there are a few others who have experienced this (NHTSA reports and Usenet). No specific remedy! I will be going back to the dealer and giving them their 3 tries to fix - then its the lemon law. Other than the vibration - I love the little SUV. I test drove a couple of Escape rental cars and did not experience the vibration in those cars.
